We are so damn thin at SF!
Preldžić and Klobučar won't get cut both. One of them will stay. If Jagodnik won't be in shape, or back from injury, they may stay both. Doesn't look good for Ćapin.

It is close call between Vidmar and Zupan also.

    AFAIK Joksimović plays for Hemofarm.

It is sometimes asked whether it is not possible to slow down the tempo somewhat, to put a check on the movement. No, comrades, it is not possible! The tempo must not be reduced! On the contrary, we must increase it as much as is within our powers and possibilities.

To slacken the tempo would mean falling behind. And those who fall behind get beaten. But we do not want to be beaten. No, we refuse to be beaten!

Yes i just copy/pasted it from RTVSLO.

It's a shame for Capin, but we need SF's and with Sani back we can afford to cut him. But i really like his game, he can provide you with some instant offense from the bench, which is not something Nebojsa can give you - he needs a lot of shots to get hot. Damn you Boki!
Preldzic impressed me the most in last years U-21 euro, more so than Vidmar and Klobucar. I would take Zupan over Vidmar, mostly because he can help you spread the floor.

Boki and Beno contract reasons. Both are FA's and don't want to get injured and they won't be able to sort get new contracts in time.

    Erazem - back problems.

Thoughts on Goran Dragic? I've liked what I've seen of him. Not much of a scorer but he tries hard, plays good D and seems to be improving. I'd like the Spurs to consider him in the draft.

What do Slovenian posters think of him? What's his contract status in Europe?

    Thanks.

Dragic is a fast guard, who hustles on the D, and has good enough scoring ability especially from the mid range.
The weak points: long range shot look a bit shaky. Foul prone, sometimes makes a bonehead play - tendency to go out of control trip in the paint and lose the ball, but that's just youth and lack of experience. His FT's could use some work.

Dragic is a Parker type PG. Very good at driving to the basket, good ball handling, mediocre in assists, needs improvement with his shooting.

He's not ready for the NBA.

    AFAIK:
His contract status is unclear at best.
He went from Slovan (Ljubljana) to Tau Ceramica.
Slovan still claims that transfer was not OK and whole thing is in the court rooms for a while now.
In the meantime Dragič plays for Olimpija (Ljubljana) as lended player (from Tau). AFAIK he still have few years left in his contract with Tau.

    Tau and Spurs -

Exactly. I am all for upgrade on coaching position, but give me alternatives that are realistic and clearly better. It's nice to dream about coaches like Obradovic, but lets not forget - this is the association that send it's world championship team in economy class.

Do i think Pipan is a good coach? No, he's decent. Could we do better? Probably. Could we do worse? Yes, definitely - we all remember the times before Pipan, don't we?

    What do you don't understand?
He is going to Indiana tryouts, there he'll get raped by big athletic black men and that will cause his back problems.

It's interesting how times change. It was just a decade ago that Serbia, and still-hanging-on Croatia, were the hotbeds of talent from the former Yougoslav republics. Now Croatia has gone downhill fast, and Serbia hasn't produced a quality NBA player in quite some time. Pavlovic maybe, but he is from Montenegro and they are an indipendent country now.

Slovenia meanwhile, keeps producing NBA players every year. That is remarkable when you keep in mind that the population of the whole country is less than 1mil. That's a crazy ratio. It will be a shame if they don't make it to the Olympics and actually make some noise there. They are arguably the most talented team in Europe (realistically they are 3-4 behind Spain, Greece, Russia but ahead of France, Italy).

I also think it's shameless for Boki, Beno, Sasha not to compete for their national team. I know most people in the US will never understand this, but it's a big deal to everyone in Europe. Just look at the soccer Euro championships, what a huge deal they are with coverage 24/7, and the risks are the same for players.

Boki especially is a huge miss, since you guys need a good 3. Beno and Sasha are replacable, when you consider that you Becirovic and Lakovic on the team, both quality PGs.

What a 5 this would be:
    Lakovic, Becirovic, Nachbar, Smodis, Nesterovic.
