I wouldn't trade up to pickup a backup pg. I think the Suns will take him, if he's still there.
i thought a solid bench is what we're trying to build...![]()
DJ Augustin needed another year. His physical game is there but he's very weak, mentally.
and the glaring need is at SG/SF
so Jacque Vaughn is what you call a solid bench PG? you need to think whose gonna guard Farmar buddy...
We don't really need to get a wing player in the draft, there's some pretty good ones available through FA.
If we can get a guy like DJ, that would be great. I've followed his game through his years at Texas, and he's a good player, just needs to get stronger.
Who's the solid bench at SG/SF BUDDY. Thanks Chief.
I think he'll be a great addition and backup to TP.
that's gonna come in free agency mate...
Unless we trade up to at least #16, he's gonna be gone.
i'm sure horns fans would love another year of him - but his weaknesses - for the most part - still would have existed a year from now (and he would have been a year older).
i don't think another year would have helped his status.
He'll get mental toughness with the Spurs organization.
Augustin could play point; move TP to 2 - very tough guard, those two at once/Manu off the bench - Barry still hanging around. - THAT would be one of a guard rotation.
However....
Unless we trade up to at least #16, he's gonna be gone.
way too small a back court to play for long stretches, they'd get destroyed defensively.
I don't see Augustin falling past pick 11 (Indiana).
I loved watching this guy play in Texas but he got exposed against Memphis.
Despite his lack of size and strength, he's a very smart ballplayer, with a fantastic mid-range game and finishing ability around the rim. He'd be great in a pick and pop/roll with Tim. Solid backup, but I doubt he lasts to the 20s. He'll be gone by at least 15.
