Where's all the tennis fans at? I know the POs going on but it's a Grand Slam. Can anyone beat Nadal at Roland Garros? Probably not. I don't even think Roger is his biggest threat right now on clay. Novak and Davydenko are both in his half of the draw and they will be tough. 2 Americans have made it to the 2nd round and with Ginepri playing Young there will be at least 3 and that's great considering how poorly they've played in Paris the last few years. No Rod but there's always Blake, #7 seed. Nice job by Odesnik beating Canas.
The women's is wide open now Henin has retired. Williams' sisters are always dangerous as well as Maria and the Serbians. Any of them could easily win it.

Roger has been way off this season, he needs to get it together. Nadal should take it again, the man is just unbeatable in that Slam. I don't expect a whole lot of surprises at the French this year.

Can't believe Canas lost. Never expected that one. Venus had to work a bit for her victory.

    And lets go Ana

Bye bye Blake and the American suckage in Paris continues. At least they did better than last year. I haven't seen that much but none of the top seeds looked great so far. Maria had problems with Rodina whoever the that is, came within 2 points of losing. Even Nadal had a tough 1st set. I've got a feeling this is going to be an upset filled tournament.
Nice to see the love for Gustavo on his retirement, Mathieu was classy to get of the court and let him enjoy his moment. He has to be the most popular non French player who played there. He just never could come back from all his hip problems.

Serena and Venus both out on the same day

At least it's a better chance for Ana to take it this year.

She's slowly replacing Hingis as my all-time favorite.

I just hope that Federer regains some of his touch and at least goes to the final to face Nadal, probably.

I can't see Roger winning b/c Nadal has played great in the last two matches. But, I have felt sorry for the guy so I am cheering for him.

I told you there were going to be upsets now au revoir Maria, that was a great match. She got booed at the end. The ladies is more interesting this year.
Nadal is kicking butt in between eating sandwiches I don't see anyone beating him if he keeps this up. Roger had a struggle against Benneteau today. If he plans on winning this he'll have to play better than that. Nice little run by Ginepri but he's fallen by the wayside with the rest of the Americans.

Hingis? I never liked her for some reason. She should have stayed retired IMO.

Nadal is playing great...backhand, forehand, drop shot, first/second serve percentages up from previous matches, everything is going great for him.

I see Roger vs. Nadal final!

Nadal is all that stands between Fed and the all time records. It is amazing that Roger is dominating every other major, in a way nobody really ever has and at the same time, Nadal is doing the same at the French. Weird that would happen in the same era.

Just like every other player on the tour regrets that Roger has happened to them, especially Rod .
I wouldn't be surprised if Gonzalez beat Roger or at least gives him a very tough battle.

Fernando won the first set but Roger regrouped and won the match but still Nadal is in a way better condition to even be challenged by Federer. I think Nadal is going to win over Djokovic.

    We'll se tomorrow.

of a match between Safina and Dementieva! I still think women's tennis is much more entertaining than men's, but I enjoy both a lot. Maybe we should tell that cajunspur to check out these ladies play; they're a lot better at tennis than he is at breathing.

I still can't believe Sharapova lost to Dementieva.

I agree. Mens has become so predictable, for the most part it's Rog and rafa. Gonzalez did well in the 1st set but Rog is #1 for a reason and stepped up his game. I'd love to see another hot French player make a final though. Monfils looked good out there today. I can't wait for Novak/Nadal,that should be a great match. GO RAFA!!!

I've always liked Hingis, she's consistent and makes you earn your points. She may not be the strongest or the fastest or most athletic, but she's one of the smartest. Can't stand players that make a ton of unforced errors, but still win. I don't consider it good tennis to just try to overpower your opponent on every shot. Plus it doesn't hurt I always thought she was HOT!!

I take back what I said about you having taste. I do agree she was a smart player but that's it. I don't really have a favorite female player, maybe Navratilova. I've always preferred serve + volleyers.

Maybe but he is likely going down as the best ever even if he never gets the French. He is the 2nd best clay court player in the world. Last 3 years, lost to Nadal in the Semi-final, final and final. He is just losing to the all time great clay courter everyone else is losing too. He'd have 3 French opens by now if not for Nadal. It is not like Sampras who was 100% bad on the clay. Lost to journeyman after journeyman on the stuff.

Steffi Graf is my fav female player of all time.
