I need a new pair of basketball shoes.

Definitely gonna buy a pair of the Hyperdunks next month, but in the interim should I

    (1) Grab a pair of Air Zoom 95's (Kidd's shoe IIRC, which Bowen wears btw) - if you own or have ever owned these your reviews would be greatly appreciated

    (2) Do what I always do and grab another pair of Air Revs

    (3) Buy what you recommend

    TIA

I own a pair of Air Zoom Flights that I ordered off of Nike ID, which are very, very similar to the Flight 95's and are also Jason Kidd shoes. Mine have much, much better colors than these ones

But still, I hate them and I've maybe only played in them one or two times. They are light as a feather, but the leather is all stiff and the toebox seems too big and boxy. I prefer wearing my Questions or a couple of Air Max shoes that I've had forever.

    Tell em' Leetonidas.

Actually if I could get one shoe right now I'd get me a pair of these Air Force Max

Eastbay has them, but only in a few sizes. I tried on a pair of 12's at Footlocker yesterday, so I know they're still around.

In 2005 I played in these omni-pumps with the gum sole. What a great, great shoe. I liked them more than my Questions and I love my Questions.

This website has them, but they're sold out of the white/gum. There's others though.

Well, I tried on the following:

    (1) Air Flight School - not impressed. I was really trying to like them, but I just couldn't. Uncomfortable, very little support, felt like I was wearing shoeboxes on my feet.

    (2) Zoom Kobe III - amazingly comfortable, great ankle support, but the fact is they're designed for a world class athlete who wears a new pair of shoes each game. I was concerned with their durability

    (2) Zoom Flight 95 - not quite as comfortable as the Zoom III's, but great supprt, wide soles, and seem very durable. Oh, they look fantastic. I bought them Haven't played in them yet but apparently the traction is top notch.

Thanks to all who gave their input. And to those who believe the OP is in the wrong forum:

No kidding. I thought the rock-hard outsole on those things looked and felt like something you'd find on a pair of shoes from payless. The Hyperdunks are going to be better anyway.

    Werd.

One thing I forgot to mention was the cushioning. That was impressive. I've never tried on a shoe that was as comfortable on the soles of my feet as this one.

Your post reminds me of a discussion I recently had with a labmate's husband (who's an Air Jordan fiend). Jordan was always deeply involved in R&D for his line, and I don't think Kobe's had quite the same input for his line. It shows too - AJs are very well made even though I'm not much of an AJ guy, whereas the Kobe III's seemed kind of flimsy in spite of the amazing support and cushioning. Hopefully the Hyperdunks reverse this trend, because up to now I've been pretty disappointed with the shoes Kobe's put his name on. And shoes can play a HUGE part in a player's legacy.

I have a Pair of the zoom 95s, I find them a bit chunky. If you're looking for a pair to play in, I'd suggest either ZKIII or some zoom BB2s. I'm currently on BB2s and I love them.

Consider zoom 96s as well, if i had a choice between 95 and 96 to ball in i'd go 96s

I owned a pair when I was in 6th grade. I like to try and remember what shoes I had, I remember those, the Air Penny's, The Rodmans, Jordans, Air Pippens....god I wasted alot of money on shoes
