I like him. Especially considering he'll be cheap. He's not really a point guard ... but neither is a player like Pargo. He'd be a scoring option that'd have to play next to Parker, Ginobili or Barry to share the point guard duties ..... but that wouldn't be asking too much.

For LLE type money, he'd provide scoring off the bench. He can even create his own shots, which is a plus.

I was hoping the Spurs would deal for him at the last trade deadline. Solid back up pg, good fit. For the LLE, he'd be a great pick up.

no way in he is as good as Pargo.

No thanks, good at ude but very small and weak and would be a liability. Earl Boykins is stronger defender than him.

Pretty much the same player as Mason. Next move should be for another SG/SF or SF/PF type. Not another PG/SG type imo.

sign him up.....all we do this time is signing Mason, let Barry go,dump Horry, sign Thomas and bring Hill and bring Mahinmi (this is the most exciting part, I think Hill still needs long time compared to Ian)

With Mason, Ginobili, Udoka, and possibly Hill getting time at SG, do the Spurs need another guy at that position? I think it'd be better to give Mason more time on the floor to fully integrate into the system, and the same with Hill. I can see a future lineup where Hill defends against smaller SGs and the Spurs have a Parker/Hill backcourt, or even a Mason/Hill backcourt at times to rest Parker and Manu. I'm hoping they find a cheap pickup who is at the very least 6'7", but preferably 6'9"+... I think Manu and Tony have their help now, and Duncan should get some more too.

    Too small a player.

    Very poor shot selection.

    Very streaky.

    Pass!

He is still out there...a little undersized for what we would like at the wing but we could use the depth and he is an over 40% 3pt shooter. Not sure about his defense though. I guess the question is Dixon>Finley? I think so...

Never said he was a star...or that I thought we could get one for the LLE.

We are not going to find any big contributors with what is left in free agency. We do need depth at the wing though...and we desperately need scoring. If he can come in and give us a few buckets during our well do ented scoring droughts I'd be happy.

If we could get him cheap I would not be against it...2 year deal with a team option for the second would be ideal.

Anyone think he might be next on the Spurs list now that Pargo is going to Russia? Still not sure if the Spurs needed a backup PG or Pargo was just the best FA within the Spurs budget. Anyhow here's an article dated Feb 08' on J.D.
