Wouldnt be a bad option....he is only 24...but he definitely needs to hit the gym and work on his 3pt shooting. in our offense we need our wing players to be able to shoot it from beyond the arc.

His birthdate says Dec '85....by my count that makes him 22.

On him as a player....he really hasn't developed from being the hyped hs prospect, but that isn't to say there's not something there.

I think he's probably not the best option since he can't get sent to Austin and does need some time developing, which the Spurs can't afford to let him do on the court.

his 3 point shoot has shown some flashes so i think he he works at it, he could become a consistent shooter.

This could be another option. The Spurs really wanted Wright when he was coming out of high school. They tried to trade up to get him ... but with no luck.

I like he can rebound, run and is a pretty good defender. The problem is he can't shoot at all. Plus Riley has killed any confidence he had when he was younger. The weird thing is he was a very good shooter in high school.

For a reasonable price, he's a very nice prospect. He'd giving the Spurs great rebounding and shotblocking at the small forward position. If he could find his stroke, he'd be very good. Right now he's basically Josh Childress with less of a jumper.

The Spurs really liked him out of high school and have continued to pry him out of Miami the last few years. I think the Spurs will look at him if other options dry up that can help right away. Wright is more of a rebuilding project -- mostly in terms of his confidence.

Chip is on the payroll, but his lack of a shot makes him a no deal in my head.

SPURS can gamble a small portion of MLE on him. They need young player and the key is to find next Stephen Jackson

The shooting has to be a confidence issue, because that's the one thing they knew he could do when he came into the league. Maybe some time with a guy named Chip is all he needs.

He wouldn't be my first choice, but I can think of alot worse options out there.

I really like Dorell Wright. I think if coached right and confidence up, he could be a really good player.

I like him. He is restricted but I'm not sure Miami wants to keep him. They are in full rebuilding mode and they could take another route than him.

It's because of players like Wright that I like the idea of splitting the MLE.

Like I said in the other thread... I think Ian will have a similar game to wright's so I don't see the Spurs adding him.

Personally, I'd rather the Spurs look long-term with their draft picks and look for instant contributors in free agency....and this guy is still a couple years off, if he's ever going to get there.

Wright's not a bad pick, but he's probably not ready for a bunch of court time on a championship-contending team and can't be sent to the NBADL.

He's a gambler on defense, really.

Whatever potential he may have had has pretty well been burned away in the Developmentally Challenged League.
