Yeah take that! Wooo baby ownageeee!
Jim Rome just said that the Lakers and not the Spurs who won the 1999 le fair and square own the asterisk now. The allegations are that Tim Donaghy says that game 6 against the Kings in the 2002 Playoffs was fixed so that the Lakers won and insure a game 7.
Take that Phil Jackson.

this conspiracy BS

Owned.
I forgot that Jim Rome is now the prophet of all things......please he has bashed Pop in the past and now you're all over his jock.
Yup, we'll take the asterisk, on a game 6....Look, the Sac team choked in game 7 at home. Blame the refs....also the refs shot the horry shot in game 4 as well....miracle I know.
I don't really give a . I'd find it hilarious if it was the Suns instead of the Lakers though.
It's not just the number of FT's
You have to see how the fouls were called....and game 6 was a joke
Could you also break those numbers down further, for my benefit? You make a solid argument, but the case is that the Lakers got a flurry of free throws in the 4th quarter (the most important time of the game in my opinion) which completed shifted the momentum of the game.
hahaha laker fans are mad. i raise a beer to the sky for them losing this years finals as well.
Asterisk on the game that would have eliminated them from the playoffs but no asterisk on the rest of that postseason run?
Yeah it was a joke...for sure, just like the other games that Sac won with their huge disparity in Free Throws.
I haven't watched that game since 02, so I would have loved to see the 4 q again and look with Timmy D goggles.
Again, the timing of the free throws is integral to this discussion.
Actually, they did. By acknowledging a shot they shouldn't have at half-time.

Jim Rome said that??!!!
do pigs fly?
didn't vlade and others foul out due to all the calls? so basically the refs took players out of the game to help LA
Can't wait for the Senate enquiry that uncovers this years asterix for both the Celtics and Lakers!
Vince McStern had better start up the shredder.
One thing has absolutely nothing to do with the other. You cannot predict what will happen in an NBA game. There never should have been a game 7. Take the blinders off, most neutral observers said at the time the Kings got screwed. Now we know for sure. You lucked out in game 4 and the ref gave you game 6. Nice dynasty.
Urban myth.
Name two bad calls (specific plays) in that infamous 4th quarter.
No Kings fan could ever do it and I am sure a tool *purs fan can't do it either.
Doug Christie was on LA radio today whining about the "27 ft's in the 4th qtr" of that game, I guess conveniently forgetting that his team INTENTIONALLY FOULED for 10 of those attempts and others were Hack A Shaq. Were the refs not supposed to call the fouls the Queens were intentionally trying to commit?
Bottom line is the Lakers won 3 les in a row in the middle of your so called dynasty and would have had 4 if not for the infamous 35-12 2003 Game 1 fix vs your team.
Queens have never even been in the finals, much less won one. Even a scrub franchise like the Suns have at least made the Finals twice.
Forget trying to debate this issue with me, I am a legend on this subject and the foremost authority on the internet about it.
