This was a team loss IMHO, and definitely no fault of Kobe's. He didn't make the Lakers stop playing defense for 3 quarters.
People forget MJ had one of the best supporting casts ever assembled. The Chicago Bulls played amazing defense, even the 3-peat Lakers could muster up some impressive defense when needed. This Laker team just can't get stops when they need to and that is why they lost this game.
