Actually, I do take seriously some of the existential and ethical ramifications of evolution, which Jack Chick, Stout's favorite cartoonist, puts forth somewhat crudely. This doesn't mean I totally disbelieve evolution (I'm moderately agnostic about it), but we probably ought to look at where evolution takes us.

My dissertation, if I ever get to it, will likely revolve around OT ethics, or church and state issues. Nothing interesting (are dissertations ever interesting?).

I actually think Jack Chick was a good cartoonist, and he was orthodox in his theology. He only made the fundamentalist mistake of confusing the essentials of the faith with his own inferences. And he was ... kooky! The gospel should never be made to look kooky.
