Suns Dangling Diaw And Barbo For Pick?
Jun 17, 2008 3:58 PM EST
The Suns are exploring the possibility of trading for another first-round pick in next week's draft and appear willing to move Boris Diaw or Leandro Barbosa to do so, according to The East Valley Tribune.
"If we could capitalize on (the depth of the draft) and get more than one (first-round pick), we would," vice president of basketball operations David Griffin said. "If that's below us or above us, either way that's fine. It's just a potentially good opportunity to fill a few needs and address our need for youth."
Phoenix currently holds the 15th and 48th picks in the 2008 NBA Draft.

unless they trade diaw or barbs for a lottery pick, i dont see why its worth their wild to trade those 2 guys for another 1st rounder. besides, taking on diaw's 9 mil contract would be tough.
Barbosa has alot more value than Borfat.
Deserved value or not, you're right. Diaw was much better against the Spurs this year and proved what he can offer when he's not fat.
I don't know if trading Barbosa would move them up in the draft enough to get a quality backup PG (i.e. Bayless, Augustin or Westbrook), but it would be nice.
Just think, they'd also have a pick in the mid-20s if they didn't give it away to Seattle.
they should think about trading Nash, not Barbosa.
If they did go through with this they would have to.
