Of course Defense wins championships but when one team plays defense and the other does not, it compounds this fact.

Celtics did score over 130 points last night.

we have 3 big scorers and two people who knock down jumpers (bowen, finley)...
If Finley could knock down jumpers, we would have been the one's losing to the Celtics...

So are you saying the Spurs play no defense?

He did in Game 7...that was about it. We won the majority of our playoff games inspite of Finley...

Damn, so Finley is just an all out scrub? BC he is not known for his defensive abilities, distributing the ball, or rebounds.....and according to you he aint for shooting....i guess Pop was confused when he put him out there and ran plays for him.....shoulda just had him with some pom poms

The problem is not the defensive scheme, it is the lack of athletic players on the floor and lack of offense. Pick up 2-3 offensive minded athletic players, have Pop ride them until they play some defense, and open up the offense. Problem solved...

I think the Spurs would love to take a flyer on JR Smith for a year or so. But free agents in demand don't sign one year deals and the Spurs don't offer long-term contracts to guys like JR (see Derek Anderson and Stephen Jackson) so it looks like he's out.

The Spurs may go with Pietrus who could be a big help on the wing (especially with TP nurturing/screaming at him).

If the Spurs think they can get Pietrus, it would free them to pick up a backup PG like Chalmers in the draft (although CDR might still be as good an option or better).

Of course, if Batum falls the Spurs might have to scrap their plan for next year and take the plunge in the name of "the future, Mr. Gittes."

How well Mahinmi works out will probably be more important than most of the off-season moves anyway.

In other words, they mostly just need Ginobili to be healthy during the '09 playoffs.

Well we cant do what I want to improve the team...I want Camby and Pargo. I want Ajinca, Lee, and Brumbaugh.

    C - Camby, Oberto, Bonner
    PF - Duncan, Mahimni, Ajinca
    SF - Bowen, Udoka, Brumbaugh
    SG - Manu, Lee, Barry
    PG - Parker, Pargo

So since I can't have the above roster.....who can we add to improve our interior defense (especially shot blocking and rebounding) and also improve our perimeter scoring?

Well I would still like to draft F/C Ajinca, SG Lee, G/F Brumbaugh (cause Alexander and Rush will both be gone by 26).

as far as FAs....I am not exactly sure who I want for the money we have to spend.

I am wondering one thing though......Would Camby be a viable option if we included Vaughn, Udoka, and a sign and trade with Horry or Finley?
