Are you kidding me. You want 2 trade a finals MVP for someone who hasn't proven himself in the NBA yet. Beasley is only 6'8 anyway. Ginobili for Artest or Anthony trade was at least more legit than this. If the trade goes through whos goin 2 be our starting PG The garbage truck Vaughn say o to the lottery then. Its time Parker gets some respect around here.

Why? Seriously Tony Parker is the most inconsistent player in the league. So what if he won finals mvp that don't mean . Tony does not make the right desicions. He has no jump shot. The lane is not always open. This would be a good trade.

Obviously you havent watched Tony play alot. Who carried us in the playoffs? Who"s been averging over 17pts for the last 4 years now? Tony Parker is in the 5 best PG in the NBA. Shame on you. Lucky your not our GM. If you were you will probably sign the garbage truck Vaughn to 20 mil a season.

I know it would be risk in the short term but I am thinking 4-5 years down the road. Once the current championship window is closed, I don't think we will have alot to look forward to and opportunities to draft someone with as much upside as Beasley may not come around again.
    Risk?

You make that trade, the current championship window is closed. Immediately.

For the possibility of opening a championship window later on? Assuming Beasley stays? no.

We'll see how great he is once Duncan and Manu are no longer dominate players (which could be the next 2 years). I think he has been more the beneficiary of players around him having to be accounted for. I'm not saying Parker isn't a nice player and I appreciate what he has done to help this team win les but I just don't see him being able to carry this team once he is the lone superstar. I think Beasley has the potential to be able to that. If you are only seeing the year in front of you though, then I guess keeping Parker and passing up future franchise players is your best move...

Tony Parker is Spurs Basketball. I once questioned the wisdom of selecting a player from "Paris Basket Racing"....turns out, I was wrong.

3 championship rings later, and you want to trade him?

You're not getting it at all.

My point was never about Parker alone.

You're advocating trading one of the three major pieces of the Spurs' championship core for a player who may or may not develop into a franchise player, and who may or may not even stay a Spur for long.

The championship window is open now. The Spurs may never again be as close to winning more les as they are for the next year or so. Losing one of the Big 3 and waiting for Beasley to start contributing on the level Parker already does means you're closing that window of opportunity for the chance to open it once Duncan and Ginobili are in full decline. And that still depends on whether Beasley stays and develops, and how much help you're going to get him if he does.

Screw 'compe ive'. les do more to define a team's legacy rather than number of consecutive seasons in the playoffs.

You're too busy chasing the bird in the bush to realize the one you already have in hand.
