Yeah that sucked.
Big win tonight! Tigers came back to tie the score in the bottom of the 7th, again in the bottom of the 8th, Jones held serve in the top of the 9th, and Sheffields' 4th hit of the game won it in the bottom of the ninth.

The wild card is not coming out of the Central, IMO. Unless the Tigers actually come close to the needed 50 wins while the White Sox still maintain their play. (which would be nothing short of amazing).

Tigers 6 1/2 back with 64 to play, they need to make a move soon. Sweeping the White Sox next weekend would help.
Justin Verlander's back in the groove, with a 2.57 ERA over his last 13 starts.
Marcus Thames has 19 home runs in 196 at bats, probably the best homerun to at-bats ratio in the Majors (Dunn has 28 in 300 at bats, in the same vicinity as Thames).
They just needed one more out to pick up a big win against the division leading White Sox, and what happens, Jonesy gives up a 2 run homer. Tough loss.
