Damn, that was quick.
...now available on DVD, if anyone was waiting for it.
Saw it at Best Buy for $56, but Amazon has it for $38.99.
Just wish they'd have released a Blu-Ray version.
Damn, that was quick.
ASF,
David Chancellor was raving about this series on the radio with us a few months ago.
I tried watching it on HBO, but since I had missed the first few episodes, I figured I would wait for the DVD.
Is it worth dropping 39 or 56 bucks on?
Chris
I thoroughly enjoyed it Chris.
I haven't watched the DVD yet, but the series was very well acted, filmed, and directed.
I'd say it's worth the money, but I wish I'd have checked Amazon before I plunked down the $56 at Best Buy!
Tom Hanks should give up acting and stick to directing these series. He's 2 for 2 so far, IMO.
eh..
netflix.
HBO will re-air all 7 episodes on, naturally, the 4th of July
If you can get in on demand, Chris, you can watch them all at anytime. That's how I got caught up.
Buncha cheapskates!
I DVR'd it AND I bought the DVD.
It's ONLY a 13 gallon tank of gas. Sheesh!
It was wonderful series and really eye opening. It made you appreciate all the major sacrifices and hard work they put in to make our country what it is.
Excellent mini series.![]()
Here here.
This should be required viewing for every single damn kid in school. Period.
As well as every adult who is out of school, but still hasn't a clue as to what Adams & his contemporaries/cronies/compatriots did
Kind of boring.
U have to have a bit of a brain to get it, so I can see where it went wrong for you.
I finally saw it recently. Very good.
This might be the best mini-series I have seen. It's right up there with Band of Brothers. Great acting with tons of emotion, and the sets are a thing of beauty.
Amazingly, a lot of the "sets" were blue screen. Watch the "filming of" feature, it's a real eye-opener.
Agree that it was one very fine mini-series and quite faithful (as much as time would permit) to McCullough's book.
+1
Definitely a must see, but not something you'll just be dying to watch over and over.
