Did that conversation really happen like that?
Took my boy out for a drive yesterday since I had the day off. He's 2.5 years old and uses a booster seat not a full car seat. Its only a two seater car so he's in the front seat. Hit the gas station to pay for some overpriced scarce rare commodity fuel.
Lady at pump next to me: OMG ::gasp::
Me: HUH What? ::bewildered::
Annoying : you can't have a baby upfront like that.
Me: He's not a baby he walks, talks and s in a toilet and I'm pretty sure he's allowed to sit there so long as he's in a properly fitted safety seat which he is.
Whiny : He's only allowed to sit in the back seat and since you don't have one he can't be in the vehicle.
Me:feel free to give Officer Off and Deputy I don't give a a call and see what they say.
Neverending : I don't have to put up with your at ude I'm calling the police right now. I'm taking down your license plate numbers so you better not leave.
Me: you
My Boy: Who's that lady dad
Me: ::loudly:: some fat with no life and a bone to pick because no man will give her kids. Tell jealously good bye now.
Boy: bye fat jelly see.
Me:
Is this right or not? At first I thought no way because of all the mexxicans around with single cab trucks and we all know 99% of them have kids but I'm truely unsure as to exactly what the law says. Anyone?
Did that conversation really happen like that?
I don't know who's right, but that was some funny !!!
i think they're supposed to be 6. either way worry about yourself and most importantly your kids safety. quit being macho and put his ass in the back on a seat.
Not sure about the legality and all that, but it is a good idea to put the kiddo in the back seat, especially if you have a passenger side air bag. Even kids up to early teens shouldn't be in the front if you have passenger air bags. They are even dangerous for short adults.
Well it's a good thing you told her she was a moron and to off then.
Is he in a rear facing child seat?
There were some additional words exchanged like mind your own ing business and probably 6 or 7 addition you's and I may or may not have spit at her feet but yeah thats pretty much exactly how the conversation went. Thank god I only pumped 20 bucks.
You should have let your kid drive the two of you out of there
reread it and answered my own question. The booster seat is fine. They need it cause of the airbag, but with a booster seat your fine.

Although there is no law that prevents youngsters from sitting in the front seat of a vehicle, the safest place for a child in a car is in a rear seat, properly buckled into a child safety seat or a booster seat.
Air bags don't replace child safety seats and may increase the risk of serious injury to children. Children younger than 13 should never ride in the front seats of vehicles with active passenger air bags.
For more information on proper child seat installation and use, please see the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration website at http://www.nhtsa.dot.gov/CPS/safetycheck/TypeSeats/.

She's wrong...
depending on how old your child is, Im assuming over 4 yrs old since your child talks and stuff, then a forward-facing booster seat is just fine.
Its not a baby seat its a booster seat that works with the cars existing seat belt. It does not have its own straps so you can't turn it backwards. See this

There is no airbag. I do keep him in the backseat but I take him out for short errands from time to time because he likes the car.
If the child is in a booster seat then the air bag isn't an issue.
Ha.
Looks like B2B wins.
b2b and his life stories. They're priceless.
He's 2 and half but height and weight wise he's a perfect fit for the booster thats why we bought it.
There are no airbags at all. I don't mean turned off either its an older car so no airbags at all.
IF there is no airbag then its all moot.
Its one thing to politely inform someone of something if 1) you're right and 2) you're not being a about it when there's a saftey issue. But to make a big ass scene when you're wrong and obviously just a self righteous ho then you deserve to have a football shoved up your ass.
Little ASF is 9 going on 10 and I only let her ride upfront in the truck if we're going short distances...and I turn the air bag OFF.
The Lumina doesn't have a turn off and she doesn't understand why I don't let her sit upfront in the car.
Even short adults can be decapitated by passenger side airbags.
You and I basically share the same philosophy. I take him on short trips.
You should have written down her plates so you can sent her a card with a big you I was right in it.
Even if she was right I don't think she should have verbally jumped my ass. Had I been certain of the law I probably would have made her lick the pages of the DMV off the concrete like a dog.
