Well, at least this will shorten the length of the forum meltdown until the draft.
Spurs only do something like this so that it gets leaked.
at this thread...
I wonder how this day is going to turn out! I am kind of excited, I shouldn't be, but I am.
Cont'...
Tony: Hey Pop, did you see I'm on the cover of NBA Live '09?
Pop: Not now Tony. Can't you see the grown ups are busy. Go play with the building blocks or something.
RC: I told you not to bring him.
Sending out an e-mail on the world-wide web is not a leak, that is a flood.
I think this is exactly it. Givony sniffed it out too soon.
I think we've reached S.H.I.E.L.D status at this point.
The forum will meltdown if the Spurs trade the pick, with prognostications that the Spurs passed on certain locks for multiple All-Star games and All-NBA 1st teams...only to see those players get cut before the start of next season.
Just another draft day at SpursTalk.com...
The more I think about it the more it seems like a smoke screen. The Spurs front office is so damn secretive, and then they do something like this?
I like it. As long as the Spurs have time to field the calls or emails with trade scenarios, it creates dialogue and might open up a few more alternatives than might have otherwise been there. It also might tell the Spurs how valuable that slot might be to the full field in a short period of time.
The Spurs don't have to do anything, but it might give them more insight and create more trade ideas.
Exactly...lets wait and see...
Probably. They go from wanting multiple 1st round picks to not wanting one at all? Riiight. There's no telling who will fall at this point.
As f'd up as this sounds, maybe the teams are responding with "yeah, we'll give you x for the pick, but we need batum's records."
they hacked Pop's email account. Probably should have changed his password of: benosucks
Oh God, when I saw this I got so happy, then so sad.

They may as well start up some idle dialogue. After all, they have a lot of time to kill in between reading "War and Peace"
If the Spurs get offered a solid veteran for the pick, that'd be nice. If the Spurs got offered a deal like the Nuggets got from the Bobcats, that'd be another good trade.
Selling the pick also wouldn't be horrible ... as long as the Spurs put the ~$4M earned back into free agency.
Brilliant!
That is hilarious bottom tooth...I love both Spurs teams. I am a huge soccer fan, although I love Man U.
True. Of course it'd have to be someone with a salary under $2 mil if they didn't want to take any salary back.
Telegraphs would have made a more lasting impression, it being '08!
Or Pony Express. "Hey, there's a guy on a horse outside & him and the dang horse look exhausted & they've got a high priority message from the FO of the Spurs!"
Sounds like he can play D. If he can slow down Kobe I'm all for it.
Wait and see. I won't about Spurs FO about the draft while nothing has happened for the moment.
We are all assuming that the Batum rumor is true but it could be BS. Batum's agent isn't hidden, he made interview where he said that he hasn't send Batum' medical results because Batum had complimentary test to pass on Wednesday (yesterday).
It's possible that Batum medical eval has been send to all NBA teams today.
Spurs should have send this email simply because nobody they like will be available at #26.
