Sean Williams was the 17th pick and is scheduled to make $1.5M this year, $1.65M next year and $2.5M team option in 2010. Not likely.
So I guess this means I don't have to watch the draft tonight.. Thank God.

Beno trade exception....
They are very crowded at the pf position with the trade that brought them Yi. That is not a lot of money, and the perfect contract size for a trade for a pick.
That would fill both teams needs nicely...
Oddly enough, I just received a regular NYTimes email update with a link to this article.
some of you guys are hilarious...lol
By the way, we can assume it's a smoke screen, but we can also assume front office effectively kind of messed up, it happens even to the best sometimes..
The fact that we can assume both means it was quite effective as far as Spurs media leaks go.
How about....
RC: "We're not sure if Batum will fall to us. Portland just bought the Hornets' pick behind us for $3 million and they could use it and one of their early 2nd round picks to move in front..."
HOLT CAT: "$3 MILLION?!!!!11 Gimme that laptop!"
I would really be surprised if they indeed trade this picks for nothing else than cash consideration.
I sure as hope so... not that they are just selling #26 and just sticking with 45 and 57.![]()
CNNsi.com is saying the same:
• The Spurs (No. 26) and Celtics (No. 30) were said to be shopping their picks in an attempt to get out of the first round, according to league sources.

Don't get your hopes up too high folks. Tonight's events might be better, and less frustrating, if viewed on the DVR...after watching a good movie.
And a bottle of Bordeaux.
How could we trade this #1 pick since we have traded our #1 pick in 2009?
Isn't it prohibited to trade #1 picks two years in a row?
Not to say we don't arrange a trade with a team where we draft a player they want and then trade him.
This is quite stupid of RC. I've never heard of any team that has done this, but who knows. Maybe RC just started a new trend in the NBA on draft day.
thats it!!1! im melting down already...
You've never heard of a team wanting to trade out on draft day?
I believe he meant the firesale of e-mailing every team in the league for offers.
Aren't the Spurs prohibited from trading the #1 without getting one back since the 2009 has been dealt?
OOps. Already asked. They can draft and trade the player for what they want.
this I'm tired of rumors. I'm going to sleep until draft time.
Good question.
