26 San Antonio George Hill 6-2 181 PG Indiana Purdue
You have to love the Spurs. They always march to the beat of a different drummer. I sort of like this pick because I think he's a guy who can really play -- and play both the 1 and 2. But is he really better than Mario Chalmers? I don't think so. I don't want to second-guess one of the best-drafting teams in the NBA, but I think Chalmers will be a better NBA player.

    Is he serious?

I suppose scoring is why they took Hill over Chalmers.

Ok, if the Spurs keep this guy, I'm pretty sure Pop will do a Stodamire on him. Early in the season his ass will be asked to score score and score some more.

If everything I'm saying can be said of Chalmers and CDR, then why are you crying?
because we didn't get the best, midge.

you're aiming for "solid"...good luck winning a le with "solid" first round draft picks. you have to draft better than everyone else to win also.

chalmers / cdr are better than solid. you have nothing suggesting george hill was a better pick than those guys.

that seems obvious, but maybe you're a homer.

Apparently a lot of other teams don't think they are better than solid. They still haven't been picked.

This is going to be an excellent thread to bump the first time this guy scores more than 10 points.

Now, he may not score more than 11, but it still will be fun.

Again I think you should take into account the needs of those teams before talking about them passing on those guys

I've calmed down a little now...

I only know what I see on youtube. This guy looks like he can create his own shots and shoot. What about his defense? Chalmers would have been a better pick for a PG.

Scoring from a wing player. I'm sick of watching Finley jack up blanks.

it... damon stoudemire could have given the Spurs that pg scoring if it was really that BIG of a need. He likes to chuck it.

Great pick! The playoffs showed us that what the team needed more than anything was a short, slow point guard and that's what the spurs are getting in this pick.

I'm glad they didn't pick up a young wing because we really don't need one of those.

He has good solid numbers in different aspects of the game, and there must have been something also in his at ude that RC and Pop feel that may compliment the team as a whole.

, New York Knicks have a lot of talent in their roster, and so does Denver, yet they seem to fail in so many ways. So let's give the front office a little benefit of the doubt in their choice.

It's not a bad pick but I'm disappointed that the Spurs used the 26th on him. No telling who the Spurs pick at 45th now.

The playoffs also showed that they need a defensive point guard that can stop other PGs in the league. Wings are available in free agency and they may find a gem at 45.

lol at all these "internet GMs" that know better than the pros.

my question is why not draft an accomplished guy, who put up better numbers than the number one overall pick and won an NCAA record 38 games? Why not draft an athletic SG/SF that is a big and creative slasher? why not draft a guy who competed at a very high level? CHRIS DOUGLAS-ROBERTS!!! TRADE UP NOW!!!! CHRIS DOUGLAS ROBERTS!!!!!!!!!!!

Yes. Because George Hill will stop CP3.
