Yeah, trading a Euro that will never make it out of Tau for a second rounder and cash is stupid.
That trade alone is worth it, if Hairston pans out in any fashion that's just an added bonus
Dragic will never come over for the Spurs.
maybe the Suns can work something out with Tau, but we all know Tau hates the Spurs' guts.
good trade.

ignore T Long.
Hes got a great team but can't appreciate it and wants to troll here.
I wish this was reported by someone else other than a Suns newspaper.
got a text from that spurs.com
spurs aquire rights to malik hairston, golden state's 2009 second round pick, and cash from phoenix for th rights to that other bum
Nice. So they'll be back in the middle of the 2nd round next year.golden state's 2009 second round pick
How do they get Golden State's pick?
so do we get GSW 2nd round pic or the SUNS later 2nd round pick which could be very low compared to the GSW pick
not sure, it might be a mistake from that text, or the suns had their pick and just giving it to us
Because Phoenix had it.
At first I thought they had made a huge mistake by trading Goran, but the trade that followed seems like a nice one....though I had wished that they drafted Walker and Erden instead of Plaisted, who I think don't have the skills to be in the NBA..
Ok, so whos record matters with that pick, Golden State's?
If so, that could potentially be a kick ass pick.
Yes, the Warriors' record would determine where the pick is...
Golden State's record would determine the value of the pick.
Kerr described the 6-foot-4 Dragic as a player "who we feel has a chance to be our starting point guard in a few years."
Dragic might not play for the Suns next season because of contract issues with his Slovenian club team, but Kerr expressed optimism that Dragic would eventually join Phoenix.
"We feel confident we'll be able to get him over here," Kerr said.

ROFL. The Spurs thought Splitter would get away from Tau too.
"A few years"
Sounds like Buford with Splitter.
Hes not coming from Tau.
Give it up Suns fan.
I still would have preferred trading both second round picks to move up 10 spots from 45 and grab CDR.
Haha the Suns are suckers, from nbadraft.net
"The Spurs continue their love affair with overseas prospects to take Slovenian guard Goran Dragic. Similar to former Spur Beno Udrih, there's a chance Dragic could see action with San Antonio if his buyout issues clear up."
Spurs get $500K in cash in this trade.
Spurs have basically tanked all their draft picks this year. I guess we'll have to wait for free agent season to see what Buford will do.
Hairston, 2009 second rounder, and $500k for a player who may or may not make it to the NBA?
That amount would be almost equivalent to a year's salary for an early second-rounder.
Was Pop or Buford holding a gun to Kerr's head when the deal was made?
Woke up this morning to the news that the Spurs got traded Dragic for this guy. I had mixed feelings at first, because I thought Dragic could've been a good down-the-road pick....
But, I think this is ultimately a positive. At least the Spurs got one wing player out of this draft that could factor in the future.
A nice move for the draft pick, the cash is nice, for a guy the Suns must have solely been targeting there. I value Hendrix or Hardin higher than Hairston but time will tell, I guess. I don't see Hairston sticking around very long.
