Paul Pierce or Dirk?
Pierce is a Finals MVP, and IMO the better team leader, slightly more clutch, and the better defender.
Dirk is slightly better offensively, better jumpshot, impossible to stop with 1 on 1 coverage.
Who would you rather have at small forward if you were creating a 2000's dream team?
I know Mav fans are going to get pissed at me for this, but PP's playoff showing was damn impressive. Both are great players, but personally I'd take Pierce by a hair. Holding his own with Kobe (actually got the better of him IMO) and Lebron is what won me over.

Tough call... I can't decide. Dirk has more range. Pierce is a physical defender. Nowitzki can grab boards. Pierce has been a 4th-quarter assassin for years. Nowitzki's much better in the clutch than he's given credit for. Both can put the ball on the floor and either get to the basket or get to the line.
Dirk can't guard small forwards.
I think I'd rather have Dirk on my team.
But, that's because Dirk + Tim would be unstoppable.
Give Dirk KG and Allen an see who gets a ring

I'd have to go with Pierce he can take games over even with a good defender and takes it to the hole better than dirk. Dirk still seems soft relying on his fade away too much.
Pierce can defend. no brainer.

Next time you want to call an opinion "garbage," you might want to make sure you know what the you're talking about. Seems like people agree with me, which isn't even the point. For 's sake, Josh Howard was an all star that year and everyone was really high on him. Just because he (along with others) sucked balls this year doesn't change the fact that the 05-06 Mavs were damn good. No one in this league wins championships by themselves.
This is really tough but Ill go with Dirk.

Lot's of unbiased fans here, many people who voted aren't even spur fans. And even if you take that into account, it would be more like 50/50 instead of 60/40. All I ever claimed was that Pierce and Dirk are both great players.

in all actuality, Dirk + any superstar in NBA history would be unstoppable
he is a guy that can fit in with any superstar due to his incredible versatility. i guarantee there is not one superstar in NBA history that you can name that he would not be a good combo with.
