Where is it going to be? Why did they pull out of Dallas?
Its still up in the air..
That was the original idea when it was going to be in Dallas but who knows. If they announce that before the fight it will hurt PPV sales so maybe it will happen but we won't know until later. My guess is they will do it.
Where is it going to be? Why did they pull out of Dallas?
Jesus! That is one NASTY beating!
Wow that would be awesome if Affliction was free. Has anyone seen the new trailer for UFC 2009? It looks crazy.
That deal fell through awhile back. I don't know if the details as to why were ever reported. The deal was to show the undercard live, and the main card on pay-per-view. The full card would be shown, in full, a week later. I believe that's the case, but Evan or Leonard can chime in here. IIRC, they had problems working deals out with other groups (Golden Boy was rumored to be apart of the show, but De La Hoya came out later and said it wasn't going to pursue MMA at this time. I also believe they were trying to get a deal with HBO, which I believe the Golden Boy deal stemmed from. Because the HBO deal fell through, the Golden Boy affiliation also fell through. Geez, I feel like this is a book already. But, because the HDNet deal didn't work out, they needed other backers and that's how "The Trump." came into play. Others can add details or correct me where necessary.
Cung Le will probably hang them up soon...that sucks.

U kiddin me?
I was watching some UFC most butal fights, actually sequences. And hat was fights from the past - from first till 12 or so UFC turnament.
Damn that was brutal as . No gloves and you could basicly do eveything. Soccer kicks stomps, headbutts, hiting to the back! , hitting with open fist.
Street fights more then anything, and less techinqe.
What was also noticable is Big John McCarthy was oficiating almost every fight! And he had worse job then todays refs.
Just wanted to share with you.
Yeah, it was all a freak show back then, and my buddies and I would rent the out of those videos. I still want to find video of the fight where Tank Abbott tries to throw a little dude over the fence, but drops they guy and gets submitted. Greatest thing ever.
It was there too. I was like: wf he is tryig to do and if he will throw him, what then? But he could not do it and lost it.
Frye went exchanging blows with Tank and won it!
Frye er never let go.
Where did you see the trailer for UFC 2009?
Garbage, in hindsight...
I saw most of them when I was in high school but never live on PPV. It was just a freak show drink a few beers and pop in a VHS thing. We watched it for the pure chaos violence. When it got banned I didn't think twice about it until this new version of MMA arived.
Damn I won't be at home at the 19th !
I don't know if I will be able to see the event![]()

From mmajunkie:
Rich Franklin (23-3 MMA, 10-2 UFC) will move to the UFC's light heavyweight division to fight Matt Hamill (4-1 MMA, 4-1 UFC) at UFC 88 in September.
On Monday MMAjunkie.com (www.mmajunkie.com) first reported that Franklin had been tapped for the Sept. 6 event, and today, we learned from sources close to both fighters that bout agreements have been distributed and are expected to be finalized this week.
The fight was first reported earlier today by MMARated.com.
UFC 88, which features a main event between Chuck Liddell and Rashad Evans, takes place at Phillips Arena in Atlanta. The Franklin-Hamill fight will likely be the night's co-main event.
Franklin, a former UFC middleweight champ, has been fighting in the 185-pound class but had already lost twice to current le-holder Anderson Silva. As we reported yesterday, he had been approached about moving up a fight class to create some new fight opportunities.
Hamill, who is a fellow Cincinnati-area native like Franklin, provides just that.
Hamill, an MMA newcomer who found his way into the UFC via the third season of "The Ultimate Fighter," was forced out of the compe ion due to injury. Since then, though, he's racked up a 4-1 record -- with his only loss being a very controversial split-decision defeat to Michael Bisping at a UFC 75 event in Bisping's home country.
Most recently, Hamill defeated Tim Boetsch via second-round TKO.
Meanwhile, outside of those losses to Silva, Franklin is 11-0 with 10 stoppages in his past 11 fights. He most recently scored a second-round TKO of Travis Lutter at UFC 83.
Franklin last competed at 205 pounds at The Ultimate Fighter 1 Finale in April 2005. He called it a "special case" since the first-ever e TV broadcast would reach millions of viewers and could catapult his popularity.
His move is not necessarily permanent, according to a source close to Franklin.
damn that kinda sucks. Both Hammil and Franklin are in my top 5 favorites. Rich is going to murder Matt.
Hamill is a typical wrestler - freakishly strong. I don't think you could murder that guy with an axe.
I got a PS3.
I suspect Matt's team demanded a big time fight because of the Bisping thing…win or lose this is a fairly big outcome for Matt unless he gets slaughtered. At first I didn't like this match up but its very intriguing once I thought about it.
