Jumping ability is just one of many aspects of athleticism. Otherwise, players like Jordan Farmar and Speedy Claxton are among the top 1% of best athletes in the NBA, and guys like Troy Bell and Kirk Penney are better athletes than Dwyane Wade.
don't really get whats funny about Kobe's 38, guess i forgot jumping = NBA talent. Tyrus Thomas is a sure HOF'er now.
He laughs at 38 while he probably can't get 1/3 that high if that.

this site list it, several other site list it as well, i dont bull , just thought u guys would search for it urself, by the way i clearly remember kobe's vert as 38" listed sometime during his sop re season, it had been mentioned before, but my guess is he improved to 42" now, anyways kobe's head was never anywhere close to the basket when he dunk, but he has really good agility-wise.

yeah 48 sounds abit low, i always thought he's closer to 50 the way his head rises above the rim when he dunked from the foul line.
hmm 48" seems a little exaggerated...
