Name 1-2 players the spurs should attempt on signing with the cap room we will have. And be realistic as well, no lebron or dwade coming to play in SA cause its not going to happen.

I personally think the spurs should go for a big that can score and is decent at defense.

only guys that i can possibly see wanting to play with duncan in the his twilight years are

    1) Chris Bosh
    2) Amare Stoudamire

Both will be young and most likely in their primes when its 2010 i think both will compliment Duncan very nicely as Duncan main focus becomes defense like The Admiral later years

    anybody else have ideas?

I'm sure he'll be too busy with Team Argentina at the WCs that summer to want to sign a contract.

Hard to say. How he will be physically then is going to be the key. Parker will also need to be resigned...so that will also be a priority.

I'm assuming that you mean that TP will need to be extended - since he is already under contract for '10/'11.

This thread is assuming the spurs offer the whole max...because thats probably the only reason we get a "superstar".

Can't make that determination now. You have to wait and see if Duncan remains healthy and Ginobili's body is in once piece. You also have to wait and see what impact the moves made between now and then have.

If Ginobili isn't a star-quality player, a swing player might be a priority.

By this time, Ginobili wouldn't be getting big bucks. IMO, he's gonna be declining by then.

Here is your answer: No big name player will sign with us in 2010. No big name guy signed with us in 2003 when we had cleared space for 2-3 years. And that was when Tim and Manu were younger and just coming into their own.

I think Bosh will be the only possibility since he is from Texas and he doesnt have the star power of some of the other big name FAs. No way the Spurs have a chance at say a Lebron or DWade type. Players like that just dont sign with small market teams. Its not in their financial interest to do so.

ya but we only won like 2 les and the 99 le wasnt respected...

spurs have won 2 more since then...and the whole league respects the spurs and everybody knows what its about when you play for this team. We keep winning....

There's no way we're getting two allstars so I'm going with just Bosh.

Think good players in bad situations. Someone capable of being all-stars with Duncan and parker around and ginobili in a more supportive role.

Joe Johnson or Mike Miller and Darko Milicic or Udonis Haslem seem about right.

Also, good players that could be looking to expand their wings because of a glut of talent and minutes on their team are LaMarcus Aldridge and Travis Outlaw from Portland

Chandler has 12,75 mln player option. He is cool, but not worth that money.
Splitter got option to go to NBA
Stoudemire 17mln option and Bosh also 17mln.

So in 2010 I wish to resign Gino, sign Splitter, and sign Bosh. That would be pretty nice.
