6th
I'd say 4 or 5th
That was my worst case scenario too........6th
No one can really say. Haven't seen what the rooks or Ian can contribute or how they will fit into the mold. The Lakers, roster-wise, were given up on by their franchise player before the start of the 2007-08 season and look where they wound up.
3rd/4th
1. LA Lakers
2. The NOOCH
3. UTA
4. SAS
5. Houston
6. Dallas
7. Phx
8. Portland
9. Denver
As a side note -- does anyone know if "Oklahoma City" has changed divisions, or are they going to be in the NW playing out of OKC?
Verrrrrry premature. The Spurs were just in the final 4 last month with an injured Manu. The Spurs aren't quite finished with their roster yet. Many people in here were saying that taking minutes away from Finley and Horry would be a good thing.
Predicting the position of finish in the West is basically futile anyway, nowadays.
Spurs will not take Home Court for vantage next season, pops will play to win more games in reg season we will finish 1st or second.....Remember we were only out 1 game last year from first......Utah is not a better team, nor NO......Teams will not be caught off gaurd by the Lakers or Hornets like last year......Houston is a darkhorse....Portland will push nuggets for playoffs
Hey SD, that was last month. This month "age" is in.
BTW, is your middle initial "T"?
WGAF about seedings? Boston was the first team in 6 years to win a le as a 1-seed.
Spurs will end the season as a 2 seed.
No, but if it was, I'd make sure I had something like a "U" in there after it.
Going balls out in the regular season gets you nowhere but on empty in the playoffs: see the 06 Pistons, 07 Mavs, and the 05-07 Suns.
The problem for the Spurs is the rest of the WC is not going to be standing still. I'm not counting them out yet, but as of right now I wouldn't even place them in the top 3 WC teams next season.
The Spurs mainly have to get back to be an intimidating team on the road regardless of their overall record. When the confidence that they can pull close games out on other teams' courts is there, good things have usually followed.
One Brent Barry non call foul and we'd be 2-2 going to LA....this team just needs some tweaking I think.
Proof, see 2004 and 2006.
Top 3 in west
Spurs, Lakers, Hornets
everyone else will fight for position
Those bas s were just hungry for a championship.
I would say 3rd..o maybe 4th if we're unlucky. Lakers and Hornets is going to be no 1 and 2
We were only one game out with The Big 3 all missing games. I know the Lakers never had Bynum and Gasol play together but I don't see why we can't contend for first and even beat out NO for second, especially if we can keep Thomas in the mix at center and have a draft pick that actually makes the roster.
A little off topic from this thread but when is the last time the spurs drafted a player and he played that same season/
2nd....it sucks to say this but if the Fakers get Artest they'll have a lock on number 1....
Agree, Lakers will certainly be tough even if they keep Odom but let's hope for a little healthier year and for these young guys that play to bring some energy off the bench. That 1 seed is key, imagine if we could have played Denver and Utah instead of Phoenix and NO.
