Manu at the olympics and injured.
He was the only swingman "slasher" of the team...I know we have Parker, but I think that one of our other guards/forwards should be really able to break defenses with penetration...
A very good solution would have been Maggette...good also for rebounding...but he's gone.
Mason Jr. is good but is a shooter. Bowen, Udoka both also play more 8at least esclusively) the perimeter...Finley, now, is just an outside shooter.

Imho the only good and afordable solution could be Tony Allen...if healthy, could be a of a player and is very athletic.

    Thoughts ?

Ricky Davis? He's had squat for interest in Free Agency so far. I expect he might end up signing somewhere for the minimum or maybe the LLE. We could be his best shot at rehabilitating his rep a bit (in time for a bigger payday in 2010). Meanwhile, we could get a player who's quite a bit less done than Finley.

He's not the playmaking slasher a lot of people think he is. His main criticism was his passiveness and tendency to hang out on the perimeter. Sure he's athletic, but it would have taken a while, if ever, to see him become that type of player.

Delfino would be Ok but we can only offer 1.9 pr year I think toranto will match that for sure.....T Allen would be nice......maybe a trade with the twolves for one of thiere sgs now that they are overstocked....Ricky davis if he keeps his head on would be a nice pick up........cause as I see it now I dont see us averaging more than 95ppg and thats not gonna get it done out west.

im sure this has already been posted somewhere but are the spurs not pursuing jr smith at all? if they are, do we even have a shot at him. thats the type of athletic player i could see the spurs molding to an all pro.

Spurs will have to find a balance between paint scoring and perimeter scoring.
I find that last year the team was too much perimeter oriented. Maggette would have been great to solve that but Spurs didn't get him.

Hill and Mahinmi could be able to provide some inside scoring if their offense translate well to the higher level.
FTA/FGA is a quite good indicator if a player is a paint scorer.
Mahinmi led the D-league in this category.
Hill led this category among NCAA draftable PGs.

no more room for a slasher, we need to start thinking bigs....seems with the signing of roger, the FO is sending a message that we will live and die from the arc like last season...its time to look for a big....and the sooner the better....dont expect timmy to carry these bunch of has been bigs we have left after him for the whole season again...and with ronnie leaving the lakers......kurt might be going hollywood, where he will only have to backup gasol and or bynum....not have to be blamed night in and night out we lost cos your old and short....cos thats the kind of nights he will have here in sa....believe that

I forgot about your sense of humor first and foremost. That's got to be the "real slasher"...as in...with a Samurai sword. Oops, Avondre Jones
