Neo Cons in Israel are itching to bomb Iran in a futile effort to destroy, or delay a nucluar program that the I.A.E.A., the WMD arm of the U.N., has found no basis to support that Iran is building nucluar weapons...the latest assessment by our own intelligence just a year ago was that Iran was still 10 years away from having the technological capability to make a single nucluar weapon....of course, these facts won't stop the war-happy Neo Cons in Israel or the U.S. from playing the mushroom-cloud spin (again)..

“Amber means get on with your preparations, stand by for immediate attack and tell us when you’re ready,” the official said. But the Israelis have also been told that they can expect no help from American forces and will not be able to use US military bases in Iraq for logistical support.
Nor is it certain that Bush’s amber light would ever turn to green without irrefutable evidence of lethal Iranian hostility. Tehran’s test launches of medium-range ballistic missiles last week were seen in Washington as provocative and poorly judged, but both the Pentagon and the CIA concluded that they did not represent an immediate threat of attack against Israeli or US targets.
It's incredible that here we are 6 years after knowing what we know now about how the current administration lied us into a unnecessary war in the Middle East... our inept M$M is letting them get away with it again...

If someone in my neighborhood is constantly threatening the annihilation of my Family, and claims he has the means to do so, should I sit around twiddling my thumbs if I'm capable of taking pre-emptive action to stop that annihilation?

Iran is fully aware, as was Russia, of Mutually Assured Destruction, MAD. Iran would be obliterated by Israel and US if it attacked Israel or US M/E bases.
The "nuclear Iran" smokescreen, similar to Saddam's WMD, hides the real US objective, which is Iran's oil and gas.
I'm curious to know, in this example, what would you actually do:
1) Break the law, take a gun and murder them. (War)
2) Go to a court and obtain a restraining order. (Diplomacy, with sanctions)
3) Call him up and try to work out the differences. (Direct diplomacy)
4) Other, please explain?
First to clarify; in my original post I was speaking of Israel and Iran, not the U.S. and Iran (for CD).
And personally? I can't fathom how it would feel to have someone threaten my existence, especially if my intentions were to live and let live, therefore, realistically I don't know how I would handle it. It's incomprehensible to the extent that I can't answer it, yet that's the very position that Israel find's herself in.
How would you handle it if your Family were threatened in such a manner? How strong and deep are your instincts to protect your family from obliteration?
Assume that diplomacy of any kind is out of the question; that no outside intervention is available to help and assume that, other than a pre-emptive strike, you have no recourse other than to sit back and wait to see if they make good on their threat.
How do you deal with that?

Israel has 300 nucluar weapons, Iran has 0....they don't even have the capacity to make enough plutonium for one nucluar weapon....so tell me how Iran is gonna destroy Israel again?
