Metallica was the back in the day. Lars and his Napster hard on kinda turned me away from the band, but I still listen to them here and there.
If they've got a new one dropping, I may check it out. And it will be interesting if they're going back to their older heavy and grittier style. I had no problem like alot of Metallica fans did when they went more melodic w/ Justice and the Black albums ... but I do miss the old sounds of Lightning and Kill em All.
If Metallica has a shred of songwriting and performance ability left, Rick Rubin will find it. If they can't make a good album with him at the helm, they're done.

If more commercial means better than yeah it was more commerical. Nothing made MTV until ...In Justice For All.
