Is he gone for good or will the spurs just give him the minimum after they're done. On 1250, I heard one day that he does wanna come back for the spurs, even at the least he can be paid. He also said that with this, if he wasn't back on the team it's because the spurs simply didn't want him. Has anyone heard anything?

Haven't heard anything yet either. I think their plan is to only bring him back if every other decent f/c is gone.

Rob needs to hang up his shoes and put on a suit coat to be one of Pops assistants. Love ya Rob, but you could be more productive on the Spurs bench mentoring the new Spurs: Mason, Gist, Ian, Hill and Hairston.

I think the Spurs will wait and see how the rookies will do in the Summer League before think about Horry

He was actually playing pretty well last year before he got injured, then he never really got into a rhythm.

I agree. Horry's still a back-up or insurance plan. If Mahinmi breaks an ankle in summer league, or Oberto gets hurt in the Olympics, Horry would be a good guy to have handy.

And if the Spurs like Gist or Malik they need open roster spots to sign them

Love the guy, but Horry provided no assistance whatsoever off the bench in this year's playoffs campaign. We can't afford that liability again, it is time to retire.

It's like getting a flat tire in the middle of Death Valley and then checking the trunk to find that there is no spare. What do you do? Walking will take an entire day and you might die of thirst, but driving on the flat might cause damage to the rim and be a little more expensive... Horry is our car with a flat right now. The ride might get bumpy, but it beats hiking on a hot desert highway.

I think the Spurs should have Finley and Horry fight to the death for the final roster spot.

I'd take Horry over Bonner. Maybe even Gist over both depending upon summer league.

Big Shot Rob had a fantastic career.

The fact that he is getting no attention from any teams is a shame.

Still--I also don't see SA bringing him back exce[t maybe during the season because of an emergency. Otherwise, he should become Coach Horry and join Pop's stable of assistants.

It's a shame, but not unexpected. The rest of the league was watching the playoffs too. A player's rep can only take him so far.

Would have liked to have seen Horry get the last shot in Gm 1 vs the Flakers.
    Not injured Manu.

Not the way to have Horry go out.

And I bet you are one of the "we must get younger" crowd too. Let's get rid of a 28 yo for a 38yo. Makes sense to me.

For the past 4 years Horrys numbers have been on a steady decline. Horry is a s of his former self. It's time he realized he has nothing left to offer on the court, and hang up his sneakers.

Bonner, on the other hand, can still be a force, given the minutes. He brings hustle and another 3 pt threat. Is a good FT shooter and a decent rebouder. We could do a lot worse for the money.

    Bonner can be a force?

please, open your eyes. Come playoff time and God forbid, we have 2 options on the bench, a 38 year old Horry or a 28 year old Bonner. I will pick Horry to come in 99.9% of the time.

in other words an old and broke down Horry still >> Bonner

beleive me, I would like Horry to retire too, but not before Bonner is out of the team and we have a better option.
