so what do we do now?
Everyone he passes to misses.
Ian can block shots but I'm sorry, he's still a young pup and not looking ready for NBA prime time.
Hill needs to add some muscle so that he won't get pushed out of the play....and relax. He may have some 1st game jitters. He did get back on D well to ruin a transition score.
Gist looks to have great hustle and kept several trips alive, early-on.
It's really hard to draw any conclusions at this point because everyone's trying to play as a team, which they clearly aren't yet. Nobody knows where anyone else is going to be and nobody wants to take too many shots. Nice to have a team of unselfish guys.
As mentioned, George can't shoot the ball for the guys he passes to, so he should just freakin' shoot.
Dynasty your sig is a pain in my ass.
Decent enough first half. Spurs looked good coming out of the gates but then their offense shut down. They came out running on adrenaline and then it looked like they got tired. Hopefully they can pick it up in the second half.
-Hill's defense has been good. He came out aggressive offensively but then turned massive for the last 15 minutes of the first half. Decent not great ballhandler and playmaker so far. Good speed and agility. He needs to up his energy offensively and start forcing the action.
-Mahinmi started off slowly but he's made a few good moves on both ends. With the ball, he can overpower the Grizzlies defenders. Hopefully he can look more dominant in the second half.
-Gist looked pretty damn good. Mobile and quick defensively. Three very nice blocked shots. Offensively he attacked the rim nicely. He looks like a power forward more than a small forward, though.
-Hairston has been largely missing in action. Few decent boards but his jumper has been way off. Athleticism isn't impressive so far -- neither is his size. Let's hope he shows more in the last two quarters.
Not bad but need better showing from the Spurs in the second half.
That's deceiving. His court vision doesn't look bad, and he's found some open players. No one is hitting, though. Hill looks decent, nothing to get hot about, but he's definately an NBA player, it seems.
Are you on Timvp's link on page 4? It's working fine for me on that.
You mean in the NBDL? I don't think he can't put those numbers up in the NBA right now.
underwhelming is the way id put it.
Yeah, just based on this half I'd say Gist is an energy 4, not a 3. But, that's fine, because he looks good. I'm already ready to see him in a Toro uniform. Hairston on the other hand...
I hope we hit 70 points...
Hairston 3 fouls, 0 points?
damn for a change, you might be onto something...
my initial impression of George Hill is he ain't ready for the big time. It's obvious he played in some po dunk College league. I would like to see him put up some points in the second half.
Gist is definitely looking impressive at this point. I figured the Spurs would try to play him as a 3, but he doesn't look to be moving out. He does have the quickness though, but it also works well in the post for him.
Hill...scribble scribble...Gist...got it.
Ah, well done. Thanks.
I'm running half and half because I don't have two monitors in here anymore. Every time I type a post when his sig is on the screen, it jumps back and forth because the sig is so wide. No biggie, it just popped into my head while I was typing.
Did Ian just get pulled in a Summer League game
Funny that guys won't shoot with someone counting down the clock for them.
Ian getting pushed around too much for my liking.
Ah, a flop from George. He's a Spur after all.
Mahinmi benched for the slow rotation.
