    So he's the Anti-Beno?
most definitely this le would fit him well.

Hill is the real deal, saw 1st half and he reminds me of a mix between Antonio Daniels and Tony Parker.

I can see him being more fearless than either one

hill grabs more boards then fab and bonner put together in his first SL game.....guess we found our next bigman...i can already see hill pushing fab out of the way for a rebound....
Yeah, that's what surprised me about his stats. The guy seems to be all over the place and is very quick to the ball. Hill can create a lot of havoc!!

One other this Hill was double the entire game! Not going to happen in the NBA.

I would think that talent relative to compe ion over their college career Hill is more used to being doubled and tripled than any other player in the draft.

NBA career highlight No. 1 for Mayo: 69-footer in Vegas

LAS VEGAS -- O.J. Mayo, the third overall pick in last month's draft, made the most spectacular shot of his career Monday night at the NBA Summer League.

The Memphis Grizzlies guard converted a desperation three-quarters court shot from 69 feet to beat the first-quarter buzzer against San Antonio. Mayo, who shot it with both hands from straight away, rattled it through the rim.

"I thought it wasn't going to make it to the rim," Mayo said. "I was surprised. After practices recently, we have been practicing half-court shots. I made a few there, and now I made one in a game."

Mayo, the highest draft pick playing at the 21-team Summer League -- he was taken with the third pick by Minnesota and then had his rights dealt to Memphis -- finished with 18 points on 5-for-17 shooting from the field in a 78-76 loss to the Spurs. Mayo was 6-for-6 from the free-throw line and had six rebounds.

The Grizzlies and Mayo were playing their fourth game in four days, while the Spurs were making their debut in their four-game Las Vegas visit.

"My body was a little bit sore," Mayo said. "I was getting the shots that I wanted."

Mayo's last field goal, a 3-pointer from the right arc with 3.1 seconds left in the game, cut San Antonio's lead to 77-76.

Besides Mayo's shot, fellow teammate and first-round pick Darrell Arthur from Kansas highlighted the Memphis show. Arthur, who was drafted by Houston 27th and then had his rights dealt to the Grizzlies, had 23 points on 10-for-15 shooting from the field.

"He's a good player," Mayo said. "He plays hard. He's fresh off the national championship. He brings a winning mentality."

Ian Mahinmi, from France, led San Antonio with 18 points and seven rebounds, and former IUPUI star George Hill added 17 points -- including 12-of-16 from the free-throw line.

I thought Hill looked good in his first summer league game. He is an active defender, quick in transition, and can cut through the lane like parker. He didn't get a lot of assists, but he crashed the boards, which is important. He seemed comfortable out there. I did notice that he tends to jump the gun in the pick and roll, and will need to be more patient with that. He has good shooting range and likes to get into the passing lanes on D. He did miss a clutch free throw late, but luckily, it didn't come back to bite us in the ass. Overall, good first outing. I am looking forward to what he will do once the season starts.

First time I've heard a player say they were happy about shooting contested jump shots. Whatever, O.J.

ESPN may have just been quoting the AP. But I liked how 90% of the article was about Memphis' players. Spurs won the game and get a little side-note at the end of the article.

No doubt, although George took a charge on Javaris on a fast break and moved his feet well
Took one in the store on that charge too. One of the better cover-ups nut trauma I've seen in awhile. He's tough.

Not just the defense, but he's a composed player. The Grizzlies went after him all night and he turned the ball over twice. He set up players for jumpers with good looks quite a few times. He definitely did not seem to get rattled.
That's actually a really good point. During pre-draft workouts, it seemed like the first thing scouts mentioned about Hill was his composure. It's rare for a young player to not get too high or low during games. That trait probably was valued from the Spurs because that's the type of player you need in the playoffs.
