I love it how alot of people on different forums talk about how this will make the Nuggets worse in defense, but its the same people who used to say his defense was overrated
The Nuggets defense wont get worse coz it cant get any worse![]()

from my understand, yes. it created a TPE for whatever cambys salary was this season (didnt bother to look it up). its the same thing that happened with the j-rich to the bobcats and the KT to seattle trades.
Its a damn nice TE to have but with the Nug's payroll so damn high would they bother using it?
http://sports.yahoo.com/nba/news?slu...v=ap&type=lgnsThe Nuggets will receive a $10 million trade exception due to the deal. It can be used for up to a year from the day the trade is completed.
they wont use it anyway![]()
yea they probably wont, since they'll likely resign jr smith now. they still need to rid of some bad contracts before they can fully rebuild though.
Nice trade by the Clippers.
Cue Mr Body and SequSpur asking "Why didn't the Spurs go after this?"
Still can't believe the league awarded this guy DPOY ahead of Bowen - but I digress
I quite like this trade for Clippers.
Camby is at his best when he plays PF with a C able to play in the low post like Nene or Kaman.
The only concern for Clippers is his age and durability, he is still 34 years old.
While Camby is overrated, losing him will hurt the Nuggets. I quite think they will soon rebuild. Anthony, Nene, JR Smith and Linas Kleiza is a good young core.
If they have, as expected, a so-so season and miss the playoffs, I expected Iverson to be traded at the deadline or to sign with another team next summer.
those arent steals.......those are players who spend most of their time on the bench hurt....those are give aways.......
I was talking to my friend the other day telling him that I had nothing to look forward to when it came to my Clippers, but now I do in a way. I will miss Brand and Maggette, but I am a little excited about what the Clippers will look like next season.
wow...LA gets all the gifts. first gasol, now camby!
It's a good trade I guess for both parties, esp considering the Nuggets wanted to get rid of cap space and it would be better for them to let Camby go than JR Smith for the long run.
Although, I wonder if they couldn't have gotten a better deal than just a future 2nd round pick.
As for the Clips, their starting 5 is starting to look good, though it's probably still not good enough to make the playoffs in the West. Unless health becomes a serious issue, you can almost certainly pencil in 6 or 7 teams in the West for definitely making the playoffs; Spurs, Lakers, Jazz, Hornets, Phoenix, Dallas/or Rockets, and I think the Blazers have a better shot at making the playoffs next season than teams like Golden State, Clippers, and Nuggets.
I don't think it's the same at all. Camby is 34 years old, and certainly was not the face of the franchise for the past 3-4 years. Now if they traded away Carmelo Anthony to the Clips for a 2nd round pick, then maybe you can compare it to the Gasol trade.![]()
He wasn't their face, but he was their soul. People ooh and aah over the acquisition of Carmelo in the draft in 2003, but the reason for their turn-around had more to do with Marcus Camby coming back than Melo, who was a glorified decoy his rookie season.
Like someone else said, now they will give up 130 instead of 110.
Yeah, Denver just slipped from the play offs this coming season. Looks like Portland will be happy to take their spot.
Please get your facts straight before stating something stupid, nba.com player files are available to anyone...
He used to be injury-prone at the beginning of his carreer but his conditionning is much better since arriving in Denver.
Actually he posted carreer-highs in game played and minute played last year.
http://www.nba.com/playerfile/marcus...eer_stats.html
He averages more than 68 GP / year for the last 5 seasons.

It seems a lot of people here aren't familiar with salary dumps. The NBA is a business as much as it is a compe ive sports league. Not every trade is done for the sake of improving one's team (Gasol trade, this Camby trade, etc.).
He's 34 years old and as great as his "defense" is always claimed to be, he's not going to be a guy who carries your team for you. Gasol was a franchise player and is in his prime, under 30 years old.
Speaking for Sequ, you mean "Why the F--- didn't the Spurs go after this? F---ing ahole morons!" Something like that.![]()
Denver is a poorly run team. They are now at a 70mil payroll, thin on the front line, starting backcourt is old. Front line injury prone, oh and they go 7 deap!
Can you say lottery pick next year?
Brand>camby
I know.
