ESPN, the internet and 6-man games ruined poker. Hope you assholes are happy.
I am happy, actually. I won 10 bucks tonight.

, I'd never play an underground game, especially with a ty rake. IMHO, the reason you pay the rake to the casino is for the security of the game.

On an unrelated point, I saw something I've never seen before the other day - a guy who only called or folded, never bet or raised, not once in 3 hours. Now I know what a calling station is, but this guy wasn't one. He'd fold a lot, would never open the betting, never raised, only called. He'd call a small pot on the river with high trips, like that. Never seen it before in my life. Guy was a tool too. Unfortunately I never had the cards to take his stake.

Anyway, that night I had ty cards for 3 hours then my first pocket pair all night was QQ which flopped trips, and 5 hands later I had AA - bet of $15, one caller, I was on the button and raised to $40, first guy went to $65 all-in, second guy upped it to $100, and I went all-in for $340 and got called. First guy had 99, second guy, who had been playing very well, A10 (WTF!?!?). Man, that was a weird table - a whole bunch of callers and low-raisers, and every time I'd try to steal someone would re-raise, so I just holed up and waited for the cards to hurt them. It was worth waiting for in the end.

Six man games involve wayyyyyyyyyyy more poker playing than 10 man games do.
For people who only know how to count to 12, that might be true.

    No casinos in SA dude.

You don't need cards to make money from someone who is so bad! Play lots of hands against him and just fold him out or value bet when your hand actually hits.

See - Casino players = donks. Online games aren't like that anymore. They were a few years ago. Man - it was nice.

No casions - does that mean no card rooms too? So all of the live action in SA is illegal? How does that work? The authorities must know about these places (from what people are saying it sounds like there's a fair few), so do they just turn a blind eye or what?

Yeah, I tried that for the first hour and every time he'd turn over two pair or better... twas frustrating, so I backed off. He simply wouldn't fold when he should have and kept hitting his bull ! Three times I had him dominated on the flop or turn, bet hard and he called and hit his crap. He just had the run of the cards. I took a few smaller pots off him later though, and pretty much got my money back from him.

BTW, how's your new home (Michigan?)?

I'm still amazed by the $340 call from the A10 guy. He had played very solid poker up to that point. He said he thought I was bluffing. I think he just got tired and impatient.

I play 2 underground games here, because that is all they have. The rake is not too bad, and they give you food and drinks.

There is always the chance that we can get robbed or popped by the cops, but I have to have my poker.

What do you mean by "schill"? That he was working with someone else on the table? If so, no way. This guy was just a moron. When he was leaving, I said "you play an interesting brand of poker" in a sardonic tone, and he looked straight at me and "so do you" like he had no idea what I was talking about.

Nah, he wasn't a dupe, because his play wasn't advantaging anyone in particular. he was just a moron who thought he was better off never betting or raising. I guess he figured that way he never gave out information (except that he'd hit something), which was true, but it also lost him a lot of money he could've made on nice cards.

BTW, he looked like Yosemite Sam with grey hair!
