Hill finishes with 21 points on 6-for-14 shooting. Didn't even play that many minutes.

    Good improvement
Decent game a Hill, definitely an a Jacque Vaughn upgrade.

Gist had a couple of good moves.

Mahinmi had a forgettable game. The more I watch him, the more I'm thinking that he needs more time in the D-league. He just doesn't seem to know where to position, he also doesn't seem to have a big defensive presence. He also looks small compared to the 7 footer that the Jazz have.

    link to box score?
Patience, my fair feathered friend. It should be up within the hour. It looks like for the RMR that they scan the boxscore as a PDF and then put it online.

Ian is timid. Time in the D league isn't going to fix that.

George Hill played a good game tonight, and it's not his scoring I'm talking about (altought scoring always help). He reduced his turnovers and combined better his drive and dish, along with the drive and finish. I really don't know much about the kind of compe ion he went against in the Utah PG, but he definitely did not have any lapses keeping up with his guy defensively, which to me is the biggest improvement. Overall, for Hill. I wonder how much an effect the one day off had on him?

Hill was really good in this game; especially the 2nd half.. he should just, hopefully, get better and better... starting to look like a first round pick.

You expected him to play perfect games before he even knew the system, God your backtracking is pathetic.

what did everyone think of gist's game? seems like he had his worst game tonight. Hope that didn't hurt his chances at making the roster. have not seen a box score yet, so could be wrong... he did have some good baskets of what I saw when my feed was not cutting out...

Yeah an undersized power forward who doesn't play much D is gonna make it rather than a good sized power forward with loads of potential.

I am not sure why they decided to gamble so much drafting the kid... they knew he started balling way too old (16)... the only thing i have seen on him that made me a believer was a monster block on Acker last year's pre season game against the mavs at the aa center... other than that all what i've seen it's a guy that needs more developing to get minimally good to play with high IQ players like Tim, Tony, Bruce and Manu...

Pretty invisible out there especially with the bad feed. I'd be willing to bet he was gassed after this many straight games. But I think he still managed to contribute a little bit.

I expected him to play better. A lot better. And today he took a serious step towards that goal. Where did I say I expected him to play perfect basketball?
C'mon quote me saying that... or stop putting words I didn't say in my mouth.
I call it the way I see it. If you don't like to read me, there's always the ignore setting on the board.

Well no duh he's gonna need more development, he's basically still a rookie, he barely spent any time with the Spurs.

Duncan didn't start playing ball until 9th grade.

I'm not saying Ian will be nearly as good as TD, but it's still too early to write him off.
