I'm Spanish and I say: NO.

Marc Gasol is better. (Marc will be better than Pau, he's more agressive and compe ive). Papaloukas and Smodis are better than him.
Great. Makes the Lakers deal seem legit now, they did it for Marc, not Kwame.

Wow. It looks like a Unicaja players went to the line with 8.6 seconds up by one point. The player was a 93% free throw shooter but he missed both. Tau got the rebound and Pete Mickeal went coast to coast and scored to win by a point.

From the box score, it says Splitter had 12 points, 4 rebounds and a block in 21 minutes.

Pau doesn't have the mind of a champion; Marc, yes. He's a real warrior, and his basketball IQ isn't much lower than Pau's.

I'm sure he'll be a starter next season in Memphis (if he comes to NBA)

You are right, the second best Center, PF on the Brazilian Team is Rafael Araujo(Remember? He played for Utah Jazz). So was Tiago Spliter against Dirk and Kaman and more two 7´0 players from Germany team. He did what he could, without help he played a solid game.

But now Rudoy says his client, Tiago Splitter, a first-round draft pick of the Spurs, wanted to come to the NBA but could not afford to turn down his European offer.

“Splitter was 100 percent committed,” said Rudoy. “He wanted to come. But his team made him an offer (equal to $5 million annually) that he couldn’t say no to. All his intentions were to come to the NBA. So I also think you may see NBA teams not taking European players in the middle or late in the first round (with guaranteed salaries less than $2 million annually).”

If the numbers are these, no way he could have accepted to play for spurs!!!
However, this case should give the "suggestion" to chance the rule abiout the draft...
I actually think the amounts regarding salary cap and the money for first draft choices are good rules...and you can't change them totally because the thing works only if everybody makes money.
Imho the rule could change in this way, for draft choices : after at least two years away from the club that drafted the first choice, to the team should be given the chance to match any amount of money offered to the player, avoiding the restrictions...like for 2^ round choices.

The point is that nba teams, in case of market value absolutely evidently larger than the one provided by the draft numbers, must have the chance, at least after two years, to compete in the free market overseas...

Just spoke to Tiago. He said he played us all along. Then he farted and said it had something to do with the cheeseball his boyfriend made. I don't get it.
