Not terribly surprising. I was surprised he came right out and said it though.
Said on a summer league broadcast.

Agree,
So I assume Thomas will be back and the last big spot will go to Gist or Tolliver.
I don't even think Houston has room for him anymore.
Who does?
Tolliver's play just became a little more noteworthy.
He should have retired last summer.
If he still wants to play, he might make some sense for the New Orleans Hornets.
Man I loved Horry, and he was one of my favorite players...but it was time.
whatever .
i appreciate what hes done for the spurs
2005 NBA Finals Game 5 will never be forgotten by this fan. Ever.
Not mentioning Finley?
I think Thomas is a lock to be back. If he's not Horry should be for sure
Thanks for everything Big Shot Bob.
Expect a McDonalds article tomorrow with the news lifted from this board...
Now don't bring Finley back and we'll be set.
For what? I don't know, but we'll be set.
bye big shot, welcome tolliver!
Unfortunately, I'll never forget it either.....

It was not only the shot, but his 14 pts in 4th + OT.
to Big Shot Rob. The hero of Game 5 of the 2005 NBA Championship. The man who literally bailed the Spurs out and simultaneously sunk the Pistons in that epic game. The author of many of clutch shot during our championship run. It's been a great ride, Rob.
Unfortunately, all good things must come to an end. I fully appreciate his contributions. Sorry that his run didn't end in yet another le. However, time to move on. Good luck to him in his next endeavor.
I totally agree with ChumpDumper. Now get rid of Finley, find a replacement swingman, and decide on a good-shooting 4 man and the Spurs should be set.
Wonder what fate awaits Kurt Thomas

why do you call them the sporks? i'm just curious...
New depth chart:
C Oberto , Thomas(FA), Mahinmi
PF Duncan, Bonner, Tolliver
SF Bowen, Udoka, Gist (R)
SG Ginobili, Mason, Finley (FA)
PG Parker, Hill (R), Vaughn
Finley is likely to be back based on previous statements by the FO.
Not yet sure with Thomas.
Now if he'll just say the same thing about Bonner. Hope this doesn't mean they think Bonner is their long ball threat at PF.
Bonner is under contract.
I'd like to see
C Thomas(FA), Oberto, Mahinmi
PF Duncan, Bonner, Tolliver or FA big
SF Bowen, Udoka, Gist
SG Mason, Ginobili, Hairston
PG Parker, Hill, Vaughn
I like Manu coming off the bench and working with Oberto on the second unit.
