Horry deserves a big San Antonio good-bye on opening night.
We wouldn't have had 2 les without him.
i never liked him anyways....nah horry was cool, but imo he shoulda been gone 2 yrs ago, if this is true and horry isnt coming back thats great news no matter the outcome....id rather sink without horry then sink with him.......those trying to hurt other players on purpose, while getting caught on camera over ,and over, were getting as old, as he is, dont let the door hit ya on the way out......
Horry deserves a big San Antonio good-bye on opening night.
We wouldn't have had 2 les without him.
He's had an extremely successful career, and as you mention, has been clutch at the biggest moments..... but HOF? No way!!! He's averaged 7pts and 4.8rbs for his career. He's only had 3 seasons where he averaged more than 10 points per game. He may get his jersey retired by a couple of teams, but he's not a HOF player.
Looks like someone is still bitter over 2005.
I'm sure that if Parker passed the ball to Horry instead of Manu at the end of game 1 vs Lakers in the 08 WCF, he would have made it.
He really wanted the ball, he looked sure of himself.
And you knowwhat he can do when he's confident
How so? I've been a Horry fan since he played in Houston. I already complimented him earlier in this thread. 2005 has nothing to do with his #'s not being close to good enough to getting him in the hall.
If it were just about numbers it would be called the hall of great player averages, since it is not, Horry belongs in the hall of FAME. The dude has a notoriety about his career that is unparalleled for a fourth to seventh man.
Horry is what the hall of fame is all about. No other player has come close to doing what he has done in the role he did it in. That in of itself makes him worth of induction.
I don't disagree with your premise ... but like it or not, it's a game of stats. #'s are the overriding factor that either gets a player in, or keeps a player out.
He may be everything that is good and right about the game. He may be the picture of team success. But 7 knuckles covered in hardware won't be enough to get him in with the numbers he's put up in his career.
I can not put
<
next to my name anymore.
Pretty much my name is retired![]()
Opens up a spot for Tolliver... maybe Tolliver and and hopefully Gist will make the roster.
Good luck and thanks for the memories Mr. Horry.
-Thomas needs to be resigned
-Gist on the roster
-Move Bonner
-Take a chance on Tolliver
Horry >>>>>>>>>>>> Tolliver
Can't wait to see the meltdown on Spurstalk after Horry with the Celtics or Lakers nails a game winning shot.
Horry's #1 in the Finals in three-point field goals made. I know he has more Finals/playoffs accomplishments. I know he now has the most playoff games played in his career. Those are some stats for you.
It's a shame. He'll be missed and hopefully he doesn't come back to hurt the Spurs.
Good news is that it will open up a spot for someone like Gist.
Got to say it sometime if the decision has been made. I guess they've made the decision based on what they see in SL plus the past season's performance.
Me too. It's been a great run.
Horry was chasing after Kareem most playoffs game played, which he did in 2007-2008 season.
despite what pop said at the end of last season... it's all about the youth movement it seems now...
Horry did more than just hit big shots. During the series with Phoenix, he stepped into a Steve Nash crossover off a pick&roll and created a turnover. He also gave David West a playoff lesson in toughness.
we can not just get young for the of it. we need guys that can contribute now.
That's good for trivia ... but not the HOF.
So you're taking credit for news from an interview at the RMR which the paper can't get out til tomorrow either way.
I think we should keep Bonner and give him consistent minutes and see what he can do. He's instant offense from the bench. He'll help the Spurs during those long scoring droughts.
or at the very least, get him some playing time to see if we can get some kind of trade value for the trading deadline. I am not a bonner hater, i like any player that plays with heart and goes all out every minute he's on the floor. We'll see how much of the system he has down now especially with horry not slated to come back
