Too bad.
Horry had a great career with the Spurs. I'll proudly continue to wear his jersey knowing that a great player such as himself played for the Spurs, and also brought them a championship playing a vital role in 2005.
Who said I would play him then?

So Pop is gonna put in __________ during the fourth quarter?
That's purty evasive.
James Gist!
There are 11 other guys on the active roster.
Take your pick.
The Spurs play small half the time late anyway.
YOU TELL ME! You're the one that thinks Bonner can step into Horry's role.
horry never played decent tell may
I've been praying for it for the last five days, but it's kinda unlikely.
I'm quite sure he can play Horry's regular season minutes. Horry didn't play in crunch time much of the season, so Bonner could play then even less. Any other big man or SF could do.
Maybe, but my point has been that Horry's playoff minutes can never be replaced by Bonner's minutes. Horry looked old and hurt during last year's playoff run, but he did contribute. I'd be pleasantly surprised if Bonner was able to match that during next year's playoffs, but it isn't likely.
booner could foul shaq on purpose
that is about what horry did this year
Horry really didn't contribute in proportion to his legend.
If we were stuck in thinking that we couldn't continue without one player not named Duncan, we should have given up the ghost after 2001.
Time to move on.
Horry also created a crucial turnover on a Steve Nash crossover (I said this in another thread, I'm redundant!), and gave D West the business. Bonner could accomplish neither!!!!!!!!!
Time to move on - to Bonner?![]()
Again, what is your suggestion?
Oh yeah, you don't have one.
Brilliant.![]()
Again, I'm pointing out the obvious, not giving suggestions. WE CURRENTLY HAVE NO OPTIONS!
There is only one option...
JAMES GIST
Of course we do. You just don't like them.
That's the thing can Bonner is matched a totally ed up Robert Horry?
Robert played some minutes against the Suns and also came up big against the Hornets in a couple of games especially game 7. Do we even get to the WCF with Bonner playing those same minutes last season instead of Horry? Or would we have gotten further with Bonner playing?
So what options seem championship-worthy to you?
Forget the shooting, Horry until last year played some very good defense. Bonner, apart from the fact that he's choked repeatedly as a shooter, absolutely sucks and is a significant liability on defense. If Bonner is a rotation player next year it'll be a sign the Spurs have failed at retooling most likely.
yeah manu ,duncan have never made a big shot or steal or block
For a little bit of perspective on what Horry gave us in the playoffs this year :
http://www.82games.com/0708/playoffs/0708SAS.HTM
See Horry's name down there at the bottom, with a -13.3 net production. The only playoff player with worse net production was Vaughn, who we are hopefully replacing as well... Not that I am saying Bonner was good in his 9 minutes of playoff action (talk about your small sample size!), but Horry was worse.
In all honesty, we either hope for a breakout season from either Mahinmi or Gist (or another big brought in... Javtokas anyone?), or we hope for Thomas with a full training camp and season will be much more efficient in the offenser, with his mid-range jumper coming back.
