Thank god for that. But it’s also sad that a great career has come to an end. Thanks Big Shot Bob for all the classic memories. But unfortunately you can’t play this game for ever and your time was up. ONE OF THE GREATEST ROLE PLAYERS IN NBA HISTORY!

Robert Horry will be most remembered by Spurs fans for Game 5 against the Pistons (and rightly so) but I'll also remember him for all the other playoff games where he made a little play to make a huge difference. He burned Denver by stealing inbounds passes and then firing up a 3 in their faces. The dude was a big game player and an extremely smart player.

The Game 5 against the Pistons was as awesome as it gets. Clutch 3's and then the dunk off the pump fake. That was one of the greatest Finals plays I've ever seen. If he just had a little more lift, the dunk would have been better. Even so, it still went in. That was the series right there.

He'll be missed for sure. He made big plays in Game 6 and Game 7 against the Hornets this year. He knew he didn't have his jumper for the most part but he still kept the ball alive, delivered an old school foul on David West and sent the Hornets fans home wondering what had just happened.

    Good Luck Big Shot.

While watching him play against the Hornets and Fakers, it became apparent that Horry, for the first time, didn't have confidence in his shot. In fact, he literally passed up many shots. Even still, he was smart enough to make other plays for the Spurs. Despite that, it was clear his defensive skills had diminished to the point where he became a liability on defense. I knew then that he'd stayed one year too long.

No doubt, Horry will be missed. But it was time for him to go.

I guess retirement is not "up in the air" anymore. More likely up in his ass....
