I don't want to see Maddux...not only will he be switching leagues, but he'll be going into TBPIA...that's a disaster waiting to happen. He will get tatooed. And Wolf wasn't all that even when he was in a pitching stadium.
The only guy I would consider trading for is someone who is proven to be able to pitch in that park..and unforunately, there's really only one guy you know can do that and that's Kenny Rogers...and even if Detroit would give him up...I wouldn't be willing to give up much to get him.
Basically we aren't going to get an ace by trade and that's really the only thing that will help the Rangers...

Josh hamilton. World.
World. Josh Hamilton.
I think you've met before, but here's a re-introduction just in case you weren't paying attention.
Teagarden!!!!!!!!!
Padilla was awesome today. wow this offseason i thought vicente was trash and i wanted him out. never before am i glad to be wrong!
Hurley on the bag tonight...
Feldman looked great tonight, Vasquez got bit by some errors and one pitch to Baseball Jesus.
Great view at U.S. Cellular for $19. I'll post some of my pics from the park later (I got Hamilton and Quentin's homer swings, but don't know how good they came out from left center).

Yes! Please post! Looking forward to the pictures.
Carlos Quentin's homer.
Baseball Jesus' homer.
Celebration after Quentin's homer.
Funny sign in my section. That's Swish in the far background. As far as I could tell, he didn't react to the sign.
Lance Armstrong and Elizabeth Edwards were on hand as they were filming a segment for a cancer telethon scheduled for early September. We did a couple of takes so they could film the stadium's crowd.
Why does Ron Washington continue to bat Marlon Byrd #5 in the lineup? He gives Milton absolutely no protection. Not to mention Byrd is on of the worst run producers on the team
protection for the rookies. Throw Chris Davis in the 5 spot and he's probably batting .150 with zero homers this season.
I'd rather not see Byrd there (i'd rather not see him in the lineup ever) but I'd also rather see the kids take their swings at the back of the order.
well now that Blalock is back, id rather have his sorry bat than Byrd
CJ Wilson is a piece of . He is the worst closer in the MLB...way to go CJ, throw a 1st pitch fastball right down the middle to a 1st pitch fastball hitter in Carlos Quentin
wow what a ing choke.
Up 8-4 and then the pile of known as the rangers bullpen allows 5 runs in the 8th,what kind of is this? CJ wilson, even i could have hit that fastball down the middle.Grow some balls you worthless piece of .
This is pure comedy gold!
Who knew Jon Daniels uses Craigslist to get trades done?

Damn nice 4th inning for the Rangers. I think I've found a new favorite player in Hamilton
its taken you this long to jump on the bandwagon..Hamilton with 24 homers and 103 RBI's after todays games
wow crazy game tonight vs the M's. It was awesome to see Ramon bounce back the way he did. Wild Card here we come!!
They're still a year away at least. The rotation just isn't good enough to go on the kind of streak the Rangers would need to go on to catch up to the leading wild card teams. Unless the Rays/Yanks/Twins/others all crash and burn. Not likely.
They are fun as to watch though with all of the 11-10 wins and 10-8 losses.
Great win last night against the Mariners. What an enjoyable season it has been.
Holy ! Just got this email from the Newberg Report:
According to MLB.com and the Fort Worth Star-Telegram, the Rangers have just
fired pitching coach Mark Connor and bullpen coach Dom Chiti.
The new pitching coach is Andy Hawkins (who had been in that role with
Oklahoma) and the new bullpen coach is Jim Colborn (who was the
organization's Pacific Rim scout and is a former big league pitching coach).
What took so long?
I was 50% right. Millwood is indeed a bum, but I was just flat out wrong about Padilla. The guy has a lot more heart than I gave him credit for at the beginning of the season.
He showed a of a lot against the Yankees tonight rearing back to throw 96 mph and get out of a jam with his 100 to 110th pitches.
2 wins over the Yankees. 2 more would be even more awesome. Go Rangers, for now.
