So is o already signed with Affliction or is he being courted?
Depends on what website you read. All I know is they suddenly have several IFL fighters and used footage Saturday but nothing has been announced. So something is happening for sure.
So is o already signed with Affliction or is he being courted?
I am sure there is a power play going on with the financial aspects…they probably have to get a better idea of PPV dollars to see if they can afford it.
someone posted this on mmajunkie...take it for whats it's worth...which is probably not much.
**SIDE NOTE****
My sister in law works for DIRECT TV. She said typically on BIG PAY PER VIEW NIGHTS - UFC, De La Hoya, WWE events that her department has an extra 10 people to work the phones. She said they didn't have any extras on Saturday when I asked her. She said she only took 4 orders for the Affliction fight and typically for WWE or UFC she takes around 40-50.
Not sure what that means but we could see about 10% of the buys that the UFC would typically get.
I would put the OVER/UNDER of Affliction buys at 55,000.
Watch how he swats Tim's left (jab) down and leaps in with his left...

WTF they paid Sylvia 800,000 to get choked out in 36 seconds,
How does Fedor only get 300,000 and no win bonus?? People were more there to see him than Sylvia, i would think. Unless people just love booing Tim that much.
No wonder Andre left the UFC, that is a nice payday.
2 things.
Fedor most likely gets points of PPV buys or got money up front.
They had better sold a sh-t load of PPV's to even break even.
fedor has a huge contract already, and this was fight salary may have been the bonus.

Unfortunately, no.
I think Randy will frustrate Fedor a bit…perhaps make it one round. Perhaps. That in itself is a victory of sorts. Hah..
Deep inside he must be like
"I lost so many fans, spent 6 figures on legal fess, tarnished my image…to fight that machine……"
Sadly this all boils down to Randy not getting a bonus check after his last fight and his famoly not getting comped hotel rooms. That has gotten lost in all of this
I don't know anything about MMA, but I know Affliction clothing is the new bag clothing line.
They're like the puffy pants of the new millennium.
You can say that again. Its sad when someone wears and affliction shirt and has no clue what the logos are about and what "affliction" is. Pathetic.![]()
There isn't a person alive who is a MMA fan that would disagree with you.
Sad but true. Whenever this does happen at the end of it all, it will not have been worth it for Randy to do this. He have up a cushy announcing GIG, tons of money and as you said tons of fans, to fight a guy who is basically unbeatable right now. I mean he made Sylvia look like a rookie fighter in that fight.
MMA is like other sports...some of the guys have AWFUL management.
LOL this guy that was watching the fight at my friends was wearing an Affliction shirt and said oh wow I am wearing this shirt and had no idea they were into fighting.
Affliction says it may top 100k buys.

Good for them if they do.
-"My next opponent is Andrei Arlovski"
- "The next Affliction event is supposed to be in November, but we'll try to make it in October so I can prepare for the NYE in Japan"
-I don't know who is going to be my opponent in the Dream NYE but I want to fight Josh Barnett in the US in March.

-----------------
I forgot about the M-1 reality show "Fighting Fedor"...
http://www.fightlinker.com/?p=2668
assuming that's still going on?? Who knows...
it does say "or another top fighter” as well...
I bet he fights Semmy Schilt on NYE since he's called Fedor out recently and he's a big draw in Japan...
Interesting
Andrei is supposed to make his boxing debut around then I thought. On a HBO card methinks. I can't see how that would work IF true. Maybe they know way more about Randy than we do and everyone has just given up.
As far as Semmy Schilt…he's a can but that doesn't matter anymore. Fedor will always have a weird fight to make the Japanese happy and as long as he's doing good fights the rest of the year who cares….he can fight Zulu every NYE now for all I care as long as its balanced out.
Evan...come on...you can't call Schilt a can!! You can't compare him to freakin' Zulu...
He's been the top HW kickboxer in the world for the past 2 yrs...
and he's 6-5 in MMA over the past 7 yrs with his losses being to Fedor, Nog, Sergei, and Barnett (twice)...and he's put up a pretty good fight in all of those fights.
He's a threat...not the ideal guy I'd like to see him fight, but a fight I'm interested in regardless...
meh....... sure I can.
He may have lost to some of the best but he hasn't beaten anyone worth mentioning either unless we're suddenly signing the praises of Gan McGee. Japanese padding stats mean little.
I have no problem with Fedor fighting his typical 1 freakshow fight a year anymore so I have no problem with Schilt but to not consider him a can makes no sense.
