Obama will begin the rapid descent of the US, but many in his party won't care, on the contrary that's what they want, to knock the US down and make equal to the rest of the world.
McCain will lead a much slower decline, but will lead to an Obama being elected the next go around.

Given our election system, and depending on whether your state aportions their electoral votes, youd be surprised how little your vote actually means.
Want to make a difference? Attend local municipal meetings, run for local office, support a local candidate, etc.

I don't think either option is as bad as what we've had in the past. But given that I'm in Texas I always vote third party on principle.
