To me, this articles comes off as extremely pompous. And I'm not sure why we should be glad that our starting lineup is nursing sprained limbs and sore ligaments after the first scrimmage against our draft fodder.

The world is NOT that far behind in talent anymore, NBA. And I'm pretty sure they kinda wanna win too.

Ain't nothing fixed until they come home with Gold.

Anybody else think that Lebron should play some power forward in China?

If nothing else, the fewer 3's he jacks up, the better.

Im not sure how since LeBron doesnt really have a post game, or pinch post game. Kobe Bryant would be better off playing Power Forward and putting LeBron on the wing.

stick him in the high post, triple threat position. that is where he is most deadly at. he has the open passing lanes and vision for cutters, the ability to make a couple moves and get to the bucket, or draw a double/triple team and kick it out and have it rotated to the open man. it seems like virtually every time the Cavs run this for him, someone ends up scoring, and pretty easily too. unfortunately mike brown is too stupid to utilize it.

I fail to understand why Lebron plays point guard for the Cavs

There is no post play in international basketball. That's why Duncan struggled to find rhythm in the last Olympics. It's up and down and swing passes for long jumpers. It's as if post play is optional and rather discouraged. And, with the roster Team USA has, it's fine to have a point guard, center, and three wing players. That's how a lot of international teams will have their line-ups as well. Kobe, LeBron, and Carmelo will be fine. LeBron is a very good rebounder anyway. Plus, with Kidd and Paul, shorter games, and greater depth to minimize minutes and maximize play, their will be a lot of running and not so many half court sets. Sure LeBron can play the power forward. In this venue, PF is not much different than SG.

The three point shooting is going to very important. I'll bet Michael Redd will be doing most of the jacking of the three pointers. Play Kidd at the pt. Let Kobe play the SG cause at least Kobe can hit threes and is a threat from anywhere. PUt Lebron at SF. Dwight Howard and Center. Our Power forward position would have been better had we kept Stoudamire but oh well. With Bosh, Boozer manning the PF position we are ok. Tayshaun also helps bring the defensive intensity. He'll be coming off the bench in key posessions.

It a good team, but it's not a good team

    I don't know...

It seems to full of players whose styles are gonna clash

Chris Paul, Deron WIlliams, and Jason Kidd will be in charge of keepin' this grown ass babies (Kobe and Carmelo are the most likely to complain about touches), but I'll admit it, I'm officially interested in watching the Olympics again even though I'm a firm believer a NBA le is > Gold Medal

    @ Kobe

But I'm still lost a respect for DWade's, Kobe, and Lebron's comments basically sayin

"Yea, will take millions and convince kids to buy jersey's, shoe's, and other material BS, but we'll be damn if we worry about like Human Rights and genocide...we want a gold medal we shoulda won 4 years ago"

I hope my boy Chris Paul atleast comments on the situation, but he can do no wrong in my eyes...

If it was me building the team... here is who I would have gotten...

PG - Jason Kidd, Deron Williams
SG - Kobe Bryant, Michael Redd
SF - Lebron James, Shawn Marion
PF - David West, Carlos Boozer
C - Dwight Howard, Tyson Chandler

    Guard Reserve: Mike Miller
    Forward Reserve: Chris Bosh

With the starters (Kidd, Kobe, Lebron, West, Howard) you got a pair of guys who can basically score at will (Kobe/Lebron) and Kidd to find them and Howard for easy buckets. Then West is such a midrange assassin, and with Kobe/Lebron drving and drawing those zone defense is, it will often leave West open for his favorite shot. Howard will absolutely dominate on the boards and swat the mess out of everyone.

Then you got backups. Deron is a smart PG that can shoot like a mother er. Redd is an explosive shooter as well. With Marion, you got a guy who takes care of dirty work, and should get lots of easy steals and easy buckets with his athleticism. No one in international play has a chance to contain his athleticism, and if he has guys like Deron and Kidd passing to him, thats going to be quite a few easy buckets every game. Boozer is another PF with a nice midrange shot, and can crash the boards well, and Chandler will basically be relied on for the same as Howard (blocked shots and rebounds).

Then you got Mike Miller who is a versatile Guard/Forward, and Chris Bosh who is a versatile Forward/Center, both of whom can shoot from anywhere on the court, which fits well with the international game.
