What the insinuations in threads like this one prove is that the sort of stupidity that leads to terrorist acts can be found in a wide array of political groups.

Rush and hannity colmes never tell their listeners to kill people much less hurt them.

Neo-nazi movers and shakers never tell their followers to kill people either. They know better than to cross that line.

They just go on and on and on about how "them ######s is takin' over and destroyin' the white race."

Insert the word "liberal" for "######" and "our country" for "white race" and you have a summary of just about any Ann Coulter/Hannity/etc rant.

Hate filled invective is hate-filled invective, and you can split hairs about it all you like, but it is simple common sense that when you have someone predisposed to violence like this guy seems to have been, and expose them to the kinds of that right-wing radio spews night and day, sooner or later one or two of them will act on it.

The difference between the Neo-Nazis and Hannity is a slim one. The Neo-nazis hope their violent followers will act on the unspoken message and spark a race war. Hannity et al. obviously don't wish for any similar left/right killing.

That said, it begs a leap of faith to think that decades of one-sided hateful rants won't have a similar effect in the future.

I think Stout may have a point about the future.
