YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio (AP) - Democratic candidate Barack Obama criticized Republican John McCain on Tuesday for taking a page out of "the Cheney playbook" on energy, overlooking his own support of oil-friendly policies that the unpopular vice president helped to craft.

Obama voted for a 2005 energy bill backed by President Bush that included billions in subsidies for oil and natural gas production, a measure for which Vice President Cheney played a major role. McCain opposed the bill, saying at the time that it included billions in unnecessary tax breaks for the oil industry.

Oh noes, what are the libs going to blame next? It's not even a Fox News link...

And look who else is in the pocket of big oil...

Obama has taken some $400,000 from oil company executives.

Are you saying the windfall profits tax post was lacking in substance? Que?

Some on this forum advance the notion that Obama is rock solid on his positions and McCain's a flip flopper. When they admit that Obama is flopping as much as McCain (as one would expect in a general election), posts like these pointing out the hypocrisy of such notions will stop.

Until then, every Obama flip flop is going to be crammed down the throats of posters like Cry Havoc, boutons, and Dan.
