So the fifth Chinese player enters the NBA without hardly a splash. More like a droplet hitting the NBA pool. So the Lakers think this guy is going to be something. He may have developed enough to be on the roster. Hopefully he doesn't turn into another Wang Zhi Zhi or Menke Bateer. First guard from China to make it.

Ricky Rubio he is not. A 6'9" pt guard??? I watched his youtube video. He plays more like Boki Nachbar. Skills look good enough for FIBA ball. Nice 3 ptr and form.

Knowing PJ, it might be three years before we see him play, but he is exactly the type of point guard we need. For some reason, PJ and Tex thinks the only thing a point guard is good for is spotting up and shooting 3's in the triangle. He reminds me of Toni Kucok with slightly better defense. This is the best news Ive heard so far from our FO, because it forces "wanna-be-star Farmar" to get his ass in the gym and up his game.
I hate farmar too, idk why he cuts to the basket all the time when he sees someone like AK47, is he re ed or something?

because being aggressive gets u to the free-throw line... although i do agree farmar is an offensive blackhole

I agree, but finish strong! don't go in hard and try a lay up only to get it slapped back

Excellent! He's at the very least an interesting and unique prospect. I hope he makes the roster.

just think of a lineup where we decide to go tall...

    Andrew - 7'0"
    Pau - 7'0"
    Lamar - 6'10" with the reach of a 7 - footer
    Sun Yue - 6'9"
    Kobe - 6'7"

we talked about the twin towers in the lane but with a lineup like that how intimidating would that be!!

I guess only time will tell on his ability. He looks ok in Fiba ball and from other videos I've seen he's pretty smooth. I'll probably try him out in NBA 2k9....

No chance. Chinese voters are more sensible than that. (I'm Chinese so I can say this with some confidence.)

Do you know that the best selling NBA jerseys in China are Kobe's? Yao Ming's jersey is not even in the top 5.
