Here are a group of young Players that I think are gonna be very good in the near future:
1. Aaron Brooks - He showed some flashes last season, Ive seen him play when he was in college where he was a stud. I think he will be a solid player in this league.
2. Renaldo Balkman- I love this kid's energy and hustle. If he can just develop a jumpshot and some moves he can be really good.
3. Acie Law - I saw him play a few times last season, where he looked pretty mediocre but in this year's summer league he seemed to have gotten better. I think he will be a solid backup and eventually take over the starting role for us.
4. Daequan Cook- Even though I don't like the Miami Heat that much I love this kid's game and his heart. He played very hard last season when given the chance. I think he is gunna have a nice season.
5. Gerald Green- I saw him play versus my Hawks during the Rocky Mountain Review. If this guy can improve his shot selection and b-ball Iq he can be an all-star in this league.
6. Anthony Randolph- I love this kid's game, he is like a mixture of Lamar Odom and Chris Bosh imo. He can handle the ball, he's quick, has a nice mid range jumper but yet he is strong enough to play down low and block shots. I think he's a future all-star.
7. Amir Johnson- I think this kid has so much potential, he is already a very good defender and he has good athleticism. If he works on his offensive game some more he will be solid.
8. Glen "Big Baby" Davis- This guys fat. He needs to cut down on the fast food and work out with Kevin Garnett more.
9. DeAndre Jordan- I have only seen this guy play once but all I can say is that he is a steal for the Clippers. I think he is gunna be a beast.
10. Mike Conley- I haven't seen him play much but from what I have heard he has a bright future.
11. Brandon Bass- This guy is a beast, if he could just develop some post up moves with his great midrange jumper and his strong finish he would have close to allstar potential imo
12. Chris Quinn - He has the potential to play in the d-league for years.
There are so many young players in the Nba today that have great potential, please discuss.
I never saw him play but Spurs fans rave about this guy, is he really good?
Consider him the next Garnett.
Really? Wow Spurs got a steal. Lets see what he can do this year.
No I doubt he can be anything like Garnett. He's a finesse PF who still needs a little developing. At best he'll be like a 16 & 8 player.
Andray Blatche: I think he's ready to get more significant playing time and give the Wizards a wealth of flexibility in terms of matching up different line-ups.
Yi Jianlian: New team in a market that has a strong Chinese population, will be on a team that shouldn't be very good and should get even more playing time, and will be coming off the Beijing Olympics. I think he will be hyped to make a bigger mark on the league next year.
Marcus Williams (Warriors): Is really the only true point guard on the Warriors and if Monta Ellis struggles to lead at the point guard position, Williams may get some significant time running an uptempo team to put up some stats.
Al Thornton: Already arrived to a certain degree last year as a rookie. But, now with Elton Brand out of the plans, he can remain the third option after Baron Davis and Chris Kaman. With that, he'll be facing a lot of one-on-one situations as opposed to the double teams Davis and Kaman will see. I like his chances to put up some even more impressive numbers next year.
Brandon Rush: I think at some point in the season, the Pacers will have to find a way to deal Mike Dunleavy because Rush will be that good and will need starter minutes at the shooting guard position. He's ready to contribute at both ends of the court.
Julian Wright: Brandon's college teammate will push for even more playing time with his ability to play three positions and run the floor with Paul.
Jason Thompson: People thought Sacramento really stretched to take Jason Thompson in the late lottery. I think they got themselves a heck of a player. I didn't really watch too much of him other than youtube clips, but I also like the fact that he outplayed Michael Beasley last year when their two schools met, albeit in a loss to Kansas State.
Rudy Fernandez: If he's half as good as some people seem to think he is, then I can see him taking over starting shooting guard position for the Blazers and Brandon Roy sliding over to start at point guard.
Tyrus Thomas: I think he's gonna blow up this season.
I don't think Renaldo Balkman will be any better in Denver. I don't even think he'll play much. Gerald Green won't see time on the court. Daequan Cook might be a slightly more athletic Richie Frahm. Anthony Randolph is the opposite of strong enough to play down low at the NBA level. Glen Davis is fat and might be about 6-foot-6 without the athleticism that other undersized PFs have. Leon Powe phases him out of the rotation. Aaron Brooks is a career third string point guard at best. Amir Johnson is overrated.
think he'll ever learn to do more than just dunk?
Stromile Swift v2.0
Like my boy Chuck D said, "Dont believe the hype"
Enjoy the D-League
Mo Almond: He won't get his chance this year, beause damn if I or the Jazz know what to do about the SG glut, but when he does get some clock, watch out. I've watched both his Rocky Mt. Revues in person and I've seen quite a few of his D-League games; simply put, the kid is legit. His offensive arsenal is so complete it's not even funny. He's hyped for his shooting, but man, he's not the kind of guy who's just spotting up. Conversely, he's absolutely amazing at creating for himself. His shot is pure, no doubt, but when I'm trying to assess his future, it's his ability to create it out of nothing that is so much more convincing. I'm really looking forward to seeing this kid ball regularly in the NBA.
Thornton is one of the most impressive and mentally tough young players I've seen. That said, I haven't seen much of him, but again he really impressed me.Al Thornton: Already arrived to a certain degree last year as a rookie. But, now with Elton Brand out of the plans, he can remain the third option after Baron Davis and Chris Kaman. With that, he'll be facing a lot of one-on-one situations as opposed to the double teams Davis and Kaman will see. I like his chances to put up some even more impressive numbers next year.
that is funny as . and the way the op said "Really? Wow Spurs got a steal. Lets see what he can do this year." that made it even funnier. thanks for the laugh.![]()
i think beno udrih is going to have a great season.........what? it could happen.
Thaddeus Young, Spencer Hawes, Jason Thompson, Yi, Gabe Pruitt, Bill Walker, B Rush, Ramon Sessions, JJ Hickson, Mario Chalmers, Aaron Afflalo, Sean Williams
Yinka Dare is gonna be a good player in the NBA...
Someday![]()
He has more skill than you give credit for.
He's much closer to Josh Smith than he is to Stromile Swift.
Sessions is gonna be a major asskicker in the league.
What exactly makes him close to Josh Smith? From the times I've seen him play he seems to have low B-ball Iq and his jumper is shaky. He is very athletic though. I think Scottie Pippen was right when he said all Tyrus Thomas can do is run and jump. The good thing is that he is still young so he still has a chance to develop and get better
Sounds like Josh Smith to me.
for 2 minutes there, i thought this thread was serious
Oh really? I guess your trying to say that they are the same kind of player which would be the dumbest thing I've heard in a while. Put Tyrus Thomas on the Hawks vs the Celtics and see how much he would average. I bet you he wouldn't average 16pts, 6 rebs and 3 blocks like Josh did. I bet you he wouldn't have showed the heart J-smoove did versus the Celtics. I bet you if we had Tyrus Thomas as our starting PF instead of Josh Smith we probably wouldn't have even made the playoffs. Your argument seriously fails.
I said that they share the shaky jumper, freak athleticism, and questionable BBIQ. None of that you just mentioned really matters. Great defense statement, going with the what-if.
My apologies to you Mr.Bottomtooth, I probably shouldn't have responded that way. It just got under my skin that one of my team's best players was compared to Tyrus in Thomas. But you actually are right they do have similarities but Josh Smith is just way superior to him.
didnt garnett come right out of highschool into the nba and start from day one? and now it seems garnett has been around for years. thou i dont and never have liked the big ticket, ian is no big ticket, ian is imo still far away from being the big ticket....that being said if ian doesnt start playing like KG real soon, we wasted to much time on this boy imo.( unless of course ian is being prepared for when timmy steps into a horry or kurt thomas role)
