    Dan, if you paid any attention to Oregon politics, or even anything I have said about senator Smith...

    He is a RINO (Republican in Name only)

    In Oregon, except for the eastern districts, you can only become an elected politician being left of center. Smith is a conservative compared to most oregon politicians, but he is stil a leftist. Definately left of center. Just not a whack job like most of them.

    I predict Smith will lose this one to Merkly (D) because he is now an open liberal. The conservatives in Oregon will likely not put him over the finish line this year.

    GMAFB.....so Bush started the war in Iraq because he's not really a conservative? But Smith voted with Bush almost 99% of the time because they are both closet liberals
