It's just typical double standards of the country. Nobody will dare oppose it, or oppose "black" only colleges and events because they are the minority. No matter how wrong it is they would scream murder and the last thing our government wants is that minority rebelling and acting out in violence so they pretty much give them what they want.

Two white kids fresh from high school in 1995 tried to enroll. They were denied. The supreme court wouldn't even hear their case, and it didn't even make the evening news just a newspaper article. Imagine how much just that stirred the black community here. I even heard comments of "typical white people always trying to take the few things we got." Laugh out loud.

I'm sure there's been white kids in and our of these schools though. But I know one girl that was beat to a pulp for attending one, and later transferred. They are black colleges. And white people are not accepted there. Enrolled sure, but what happens after that? UAPB in Pine Bluff for another example.

You obviously didn't watch "A Different World" or the movie "Drumline" because Marisa Tomei and the white drummer dude were well liked at both those schools.

On a serious note, traditional HBCs do not reject applications of white students, nor are there quotas or limits to the number of white students at those schools. That doesn't mean it would be easy for a white student to attend a college that is 95-98% black. Of course it won't be. And, the HBCs in the south are typically tougher against white students. You can imagine why. The traditions of black colleges are still firmly rooted in the history of African Americans and on the foundations of the struggles of African Americans up to and during the civil rights times.

There is still plenty racism to varying degrees throughout the country, and it's not just primarily in black communities against white people.

I'm guessing they're the only ones who can intelligently comment on how offensive this really is, and not a bunch of nerdy white kids. For example, what if the Spanish team was making fun of Battlestar Galactica, how would you guys feel then? Yeah, exactly.

I'm Vietnamese. Eh it's not that big of a deal but it's certainly distasteful. Not sure what they were trying to prove to themselves or what the they were doing blank. But yeah this is just childish stuff nothing to get riled over. And as some others have said they are in the olympics aren't showing the class they should be.

Posing for an ad for a courier company, the team pulled their eyes back, mocking the physical appearance of the Chinese. The ad appeared on a full page in the sports daily Marca, Spain's top-selling newspaper, according to the Guardian.

The ad reportedly included two photos (the men and women's basketball teams) where athletes pose in Olympic uniforms on a basketball court. The court has the imprint of a Chinese dragon on it, and the athletes appear to be pulling their eyes back.

Among the group of athletes in the ad are Jose Calderon (Toronto Raptors point guard), LA Lakers forward Pau Gasol and Rudy Fernandez (a rookie for the Portland Trail Blazers), according to the CBC.

The courier company is an official sponsor of the Spanish Basketball Federation. The team says no offence was intended with the ad.

Spain's racial insensitivities come at a horrible time, as the country is still bidding to host the Games in Madrid in 2016 or 2020.

Spain has also been criticized in the past for making monkey chants at England's black soccer players in a November 2004 friendly match in Madrid. The Spanish football federation was fined by Fifa, the world governing body, for that incident.
