i don't see bruce ever being traded.
Take this with the ultimate grain of salt but there is a rumor I heard from a friend who is connected pretty well and I kinda believe him but not yet convinced. to get things going faster there is supposedly a 3 team trade being discussed heavily under closed doors and some how my friend leaked it to me but I will be kind enough to share. ( I just hope this doesn't get leaked to much.)
The details of the trade looks like this from what I was told.
Spurs trading Oberto/Bonner/ Bown
Spurs getting Joel Przybilla/ #2 pick via Portland / Desmond Mason
Portland trading Przybilla/#2 pick for Oberto/Charlie Villanueva/Matt Bonner
Bucks trading Charlie Villanueva/ Bucks getting Ike Diogu / Bruce Bowen
Don't take this seriously cause it's unsubstantial at this point.
The line-up will look like this..
C: Joel Przybilla
PF: Tim Duncan
SF: Desmond Mason
SG: Manu Ginobili
PG: Tony Parker

Joe... you have a point however the Spurs will do it if they become more athletic. they have been saying they want to become more athletic since early summer.
The Bucks accomplish nothing by getting Bowen
They would not be able to trade Ike in a multiple player trade. They would have to make that a separate deal I believe.
You expect us to believe that the Spurs would even consider such a trade?
Joe P. was a huge disappointment last year and Desmond Mason is a bit player with an absolutely piss poor 0.263 career three point shot.
I dunno... it just doesn't seem like a "spur" move to drop bruce bowen, who has been so key throughout the years. They certainly wouldn't drop him for the soul purpose of becoming more athletic, especially at the expense of the defense. In return for Bowen they would have to get a defensive ace or an athletic gem... imo Bowen is more valuable to the spurs than he would be to any other team... furthermore, he would be of no value to the bucks. I guess we'll see.
except even at 37, id bet bruce is one of the top 2 or 3 best athletes on the team. and its not like the "vanilla gorilla" is any more athletic than oberto or bonner. lateral move athleticism wise.
as for the trade, it doesnt make a lick of sense. for the bucks, you downgrade from CV to ike and pick up a player in bowen you have zero need for. for the portland, you swing a 3-for-2 deal when you are already short on roster spots, and dont even upgrade your roster anywhere.
If you say so.
Joel will provide a lot of things for this team. Desmond provides athleticism and the Spurs get younger with this trade. don't think about the past think about the present.
Spurs would not and will not trade Bruce Bowen.
Next crazy trade theory, plz.
You're telling me that with a total of 4 posts to your name, I am supposed to take your word for a trade that would significantly make the Spurs a worse team ?
Desmond Mason might have been a good backup for Bruce last year, but there is no way he should start for a championship team.
Joel Przybilla is not a priority having just resigned Kurt Thomas. They are similar players but KT is by far and a way a much better offensive player.
This trade doesn't pass the common sense test, the salary cap test or the collective bargaining agreement test.
failure upon many many levels.
for a second, i thought the spurs were actually making a deal until i saw who would be traded. it doesnt make any sense.
Suck my
And the troll lasts 5 posts...
why dont we trade Barack Obama for Hillary Clinton!
Dream on!
Thats like trading Jacque Vaughn for Shane Heal....
