Good for them. Ellen is one of my favorite celebrities.

Yeah, she's hilarious in concert.
Because of this travesty, 10 heterosexual married couples will spontaneously divorce.
I bet Ellen is the 'man' of the relationship.
WGAF? "it's a free country"
Why is this in the politics section?
Because Republicans insist it is a political issue.
Oh? What Republican politicians of notoriety have made a stink about Ellen and the hot chick tying the knot?
And list a bunch of them as you've made it sound as if it's already reached epidemic proportions.
Used to look nice. Looks like a guy now.

deals with legal issues and it's an issue that become politicized around election time
Two women getting married. I call it a waste. But what do I know. I am old fashion and don't care to understand why they would want to be married to each other. And really could care less. I guess they are trying to prove some kind of point.
that they love each other and want to be as miserable as the rest of us married folks.
Or, I don't know, express their love for each other in a solemn ceremony observed by their family and friends. Maybe they want to gain the legal status two people get when they are married.
Hey suits me, let them be miserable. More work for the lawyers. If they do like most of the celebs they will split in a few years/months/days...![]()
xray, you've been on a roll lately.

I was referring to gay marriage generally, not Ellen and Portia specifically. Are you going to feign ignorance about all the pe ions led by Republicans to ban gay marriage these past two elections?
Not to mention the D.O.M.A. passed by the GOP congress. One of the more useless pieces of legislation passed in the past 10-20 years, IMHO.
Your referral was well hidden, but okay, whatever.
I am acutely aware of where the republicans stand on this moral issue. Are you going to feign ignorance about all the pe ions led by Republicans to ban gay marriage these past two elections
I still think it's funny that this is an issue. Who cares what people do with their lives?
Agreed.
80% of the people in this world.
Well, marriage should have never been regulated by the government. My understanding is it started as a racial tool to limit interracial marriages. It is an affront of freedoms for the government to involve itself into an established religious ceremony. Doesn't that defy the first amendment?
There should be no financial incentive for government to recognize marriage. Anything regarding marriage should be by the free market, and the churches.Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to pe ion the Government for a redress of grievances.
